with any luck, the resolution center will allow you to return the bass. So I advise against spending time cleaning it up. He could potentially even claim you damaged it. When not satisfied, always return as-is.

I've also read claims that the MEC pickups sound great if you just replace the preamp - any suggestions from you fortress freaks?

An interesting "saga" developing... I need all new screws for the pickup height. Turns out they are a size that's super-common in the EU but utterly, totally unavailable in the USA: 2.5 mm by 35 mm. They're not in any US hardware store, music supply site, industrial fastener catalog... not even on Banzai.com which is in Germany!!!

The Warwick custom shop in NYC doesn't have them. The screws are listed on the Warwick web store, but postage (along with two bridge saddles and a nut) calculated on their site was going to be $85!

I posted on the W forum asking where I could get these screws, and got several helpful replies--except for one W employee (a production manager) who was a total d-bag, unhelpful and snide. Unfortunately, even the helpful replies did not pan out into an easy solution.

Option #1: special-order the screws through the NYC shop, and wait a month for their next delivery to arrive.
Option #2: order the screws from an Australian dealer who was quite helpful about it all.
Option #3: Google-hunt for an EU web store that has them and can ship to the US for a reasonably low price.

Oy!!!

Either 1 or 3. I reckon on 3 you can go to ebay.co.uk and find a hardware seller who can hook you up. For a few screws, postage should be dirt cheap and so should the screws for that matter.

Perhaps you can also so a want ad on the W forum and some industrious and enterprising EU citizen can hook you up for a small mark up...

I have a friend who works in a hardware store... I'll see what he can find out for you.

While I'm at that, google screwfix... If a screw exists, they have it (IME)
