I'm enjoying this one. This is a joke right? In order to use a pedal? an effect? they recommend a new bass! Could they be more specific? I mean they got the string down to a certain type. Do they have a particular bass in mind? That and there must be an optimum choice in amps as well! I suspect that this is a clever trick on the part of D'Addario to sell overstock on nickle strings. Thanks for the laugh!

To me, it looks like an awful lot like many other voltage amplifiers that have been in use going back 50+ years, including some that I have designed for commercial products.

I'm not sure I understand this whole thread any better now than when it started.
