What do you wish existed?

How about a ultra light stereo micro power amp? There are dozens of pre-amp pedals, but nothing to plug them into (save heavy full size power amps.) Drag...

The technology is out there to make one small enough to fit a pedal
board I'm sure. Somebody is missing a great opportunity.

I’ve been on a little meandering thought path, and you’re invited. Is there anything (bass related) that you wish existed? A product that no one makes? A service that no one provides?

Who knows? If you post something, maybe someone else can point you toward the thing you never knew existed. Or one of us goes on to invent something successful.

I wish I could plug my bass into my interface and track midi and analog audio at once. Like a built in polyphonic tuner that displays what I'm recording as midi.

I've already made two posts on this thread and don't want to wear out my welcome.
BUT....
If someone made a combination wireless receiver/high end DI/tuner with a muting footswitch I would be all over it. Put in a wireless bypass option and cable jack in case of battery or interference problems.

A high quality iPad interface with audio I/O and midi in/out that also powers the iPad. The iPad has more processing power than most laptops, harness it as a pedalboard / amp sim as we're mostly headed towards going direct anyways.

This exists! I just bought one of these and it charges the iPad or iphone:

https://smile.amazon.com/IK-Multime...+i/o&qid=1599775288&sprefix=irig+stomp&sr=8-3

Caveats:
You need to buy an extension cable if you want your iPad off the floor: the cable they supplied was about 2 feet long. That was another $30.
To get the full use of the app you need to spend another $149 to unlock it.
The latency is not noticeable to me yet and is much better than the computer.

You can position mics on the simulation cabinet which changes tone significantly. There are about 8 different bass amps and 50 or so guitar amps, dozens of stomp boxes, a looper, etc. The variety of tones that you can achieve is limited by only your imagination.

The sounds are great but a little fizzy sounding on distortion.
I use a real tube preamp pedal in front that gives me better dynamic range.

I didn't read the whole thread so maybe this is discussed, my apologies if so. My husband was asking me the other day if there was anyone making an instrument with a built-in rechargeable battery. So instead of changing out the battery, you just plug in a USB cable.

Obviously this could be a problem if it dies mid-show. Solution to that is keep it charged, or build in a battery back-up, or only use it on basses with an emergency passive mode.

Here’s one:

They have a usb on the Jack for their telecaster kits.

My GK MB 800 is 4.9 pounds and is a beast. Unfortunately they don't make it anymore. I drive two GS 112 Aguilar cabinets with it and have been using that rig for about 10 years. Thinking seriously about getting a Aguilar AG 700 as a backup or possibly replacement for the GK if it dies.

1. Headrush/Helix style pedalboard or Kemper amp specifically for bass.

2. Lightweight hybrid combo with nano amp tech, real preamp tubes and neo speakers.

3. Hot swappable pups and preamps that actually sound good.

4. A cheap short scale "neck stick" with a built in headphone amp (similar to the old Korean basstar) so you can practice scales and modes while you're chillin or traveling.

5. Pedal board power supplies with 5v USB outputs

6. Bluetooth transmitters with low enough latency to support wireless headphones for practice.

7. Zero fret and or adjustable compensation replacement nuts. An after market nut that includes a steel zero fret and removable or sliding compensation adjustments.

8. A universal straplock format.

9. I shaker pack that you can wear with your in-ears to rattle your body the way big speakers do.

10. A matrix style jack in my head where I can lean new songs and techniques via upload!!!
