What happened to the 62-63 Shell Pink JB Thread?

I think the problem here is that 77PBass thinks that this is his thread because he is the one who started it -

1SHOT1HIT - I would quit this thread and start your own new thread on Monday and ask the trolls to stay away, I think the Mods will support you on this

Sorry that some here just don't know how to act like adults

I made no judgement on the owner. I pointed out a belief, held by a large part of humanity, that may be a cause of ill will directed at the owner.

Since you feel it necessary to attack me for asking what happened to the original thread, I feel it necessary for complete transparency, to post the private messages I have received:

Asking for a little understanding of a very unique situation from the OP
I asked the members to take them down don't worry only temporary though, Do you not have any pics of it??????
If not I assure you that I will get you some.
I am VERY close to having all of my legal stuff in order and I am 100,000,000,000% sure I'm okay as of now.

I've talked to several lawyers and all is good so far. Just need to get a few documents together.

Please be patient I'm looking at early next week and I will put some up for you guys.

Especially for the people that have been supportive about all of this.

I asked them to please pull them down as a favor to keep the guys from trying to get this thing locked away while some ten year legal battle rages on and no body gets to see it.
I really hope no body comes back and posts any just yet.

Lol you can tell me to go screw my self but please for the love of this bass please take that last comment down too before someone says oh I got some.
Seems most people have forgotten about it.

I will keep you posted on PM's in the mean time of what's going on.

Appraisal will be over the next few days and then it will be public again, I'm gonna try and make a video as well of the appraisal process when they dismantle it If they'll let me.

What exactly are the "legal issues?"

To be honest with you there are absolutely none to speak of. I really have zero worries about my being in possession if it illegally at all.

I did finally speak to an attorney, and they are in the process of putting a package together for me showing how under current law I have obtained it legally.

It was voluntarily abandoned. Pretty much a cut and dry case.

However in America as I'm sure you know NOTHING stops anyone from dragging a person into some long drawn out legal battle, Even if you know you'll win it's potentially gonna cost an arm and a leg to do so.

I really don't need that in my life, I may have a very valuable bass right now but I do not have the means to fight a court battle over it.

I am asking the people that have any decency to just please allow me a few days to get some much needed legalities covered such as actually picking up the notarized bill of sale. All we did was a hand written which would not hold up in court.
I really want to get this package from the tenant landlord attorney also.
and lastly the actual appraisal in writing and official.

I am keeping a handful of people up to date day by day and would gladly add you to that list if you have curiosities about what is to come of this bass.
So far I have pulled the neck and all the serial #'s, neck stamp, potentiometer codes all match and are correct, also the pink looks to be the original color with the bass showing no other color anywhere on it or in the neck pocket.

Please be patient and I will have a ton of photo's to put up soon. Should be done by this up coming week at the latest.

And I guess I'm not sure if you know the story or not, but what happened is a few bitter members decided that it was their job and duty to go out of their way to track down the people who left it behind and make sure they are aware of what they left behind. Well I'm sorry but the fact of the matter is, that it's not societies job to run behind everyone making sure they don't make mistakes.

There is a lot more to the story that I am finding out day to day.
I'm actually traveling today to visit the maintenance man that I bought it from.
But I understand that this gentleman was actually in the process of being evicted from his apartment had left and during the final stages of the eviction he passed away, family is notified shows up grabs just his paperwork and a few things like his T.V. and some other stuff. and tells the landlord they are done. turns in keys and walks away.

So I'm sorry if I did feel any at all for these people I definitely don't now.
This poor man was living alone from what I hear never had company, he gets behind on his bills and goes through some devastating eviction process. (Probably what killed him) (stress)
His family never shows up to help the guy out and the guy leaves and dies. Then all of a sudden they now can make the drive over to his place now that he's dead and take what they thought was the valuables and leave all the trash and mess for maintenance to clean up.
Seems to me they aren't exactly some real stand up people.
Of coarse that is just my opinion NOT KNOWING ALL their personal details at all.

None the less it makes no difference.
They were given plenty of time to do what they needed to do, they CHOSE voluntarily and free of force & intimidation, to leave. The apartment was to be trashed per the families decision, This family walked away and didn't have enough respect for this man's belongings to keep them from the dumpster, thank God It was able to be saved from the dump.

And then this beauty from SolarMan:

Just Stop already
If you continue to act like on troll on the 62 pink jazz thread you are going to ruin it again.

What do you have to gain from acting like a child?

Please stop it.

OK, 77, you were making no judgment. My mistake.

I would like to make one request, and then that's all I can do.

Dear TB community. Can we please not make moral judgments this time around? Can we please not send out our detectives and expert lawyers and just focus on the bass this time? This is a bass forum, and a lot of us are interested in this historic find and want to follow along. It's an open forum and nobody can stop you from posting whatever you want to, but as a favor to some of us morally inferior members, can we just focus on the bass so that we get to participate in this piece of history?

Just a humble request for your fellow TB buddy GreenWithEnvy.

I have this crazy suspicion that 77 believes I am full of yeah you know.

77 if that is the case I assure you I am being as honest with you and everyone else as I can possibly be.

The guitar is going to Gruhn, I am trying to be a little discrete as to the exact time and date as I'm just a bit uncomfortable telling everyone in the world that I'll be arriving with a potentially $25,000 guitar with bells on screaming come get me.

OK 77, I read the posts. So what? I don't get the point?

I won't point out that divulging private communications in public seems a little less than moral to me, mainly because, well, I don't see anything damning in any of the communication. So what's the big deal? <---- Rhetorical question, no answer requested.

IDK People I hae tried and tried to share this with this community, I have been more honest than probably most people would ever be and I get called a troll. I tell my story thinking it will help figure things out and put some answers to the basses original origins and I get called immoral for it.
I can only share the best information I have with the community as it comes to me.

As I said in the beginning, This all happened extremely fast and unfortunately the story I was originally given by one guy turns out to not be exactly what happened.
I tried to bring that here thinking okay maybe these people will understand and finally see that there was no poor victims in this situation.

I can't force you to buy my story all I cna do is assure you it is as true as I know it to be, which basically means a lot of my story is based off of what I have been told.

It's not like I can waltz into the property office and demand files, I'm depending on a couple maintenance men to give me the run down. And the information I get is all I can share it's a complicated story I don't deny that but it is a true story and yes I get that maybe it comes off a little far fetched when you add in a $30k bass but it is what it is.
I popped up here ONLY becuase it was a bass if it was a Fender Strat or Tele I would be somewhere else right now.

I think I'll just wait until I get Gruhn's appraisal and maybe that will help this a little. lol this is something else.

My last points.

1. I do not pass judgement on 1shot. I think he misinterpreted some of my posts and lashed out, but I don't pass judgement.

2. Karma applies to all. The family included.

3. I see now why the original thread was removed. The ferocity and name calling by the apologists has no place on TB.

4. I can see why some classified this as a sordid affair.

77 I'm not sure where the whole karma thing came from man?

If you weren't passing judgement that comment in itself was one funny way of NOT passing judgement.
Only to come back later and say you meant it towards everyone in the whole world and then not even own your words by saying it's how a large part of humanity feels, Last I checked it was you who said it.
What you fail to realize is that just like you I have gotten a kind of run around story and I myself have had to kinda pick through the details.

Anyway arguing is futile, Either you believe it or you don't

I'm not sure if Gruhn's appraisal will help you stop thinking I'm trolling you but if so feel free Monday to say something.

No hard feelings, I actually do understand where your coming from believe it or not.
I'd be reluctant to believe some of this, and I was and that is why I have now gotten three different stories.
I am confident that I have gotten to the bottom of it now, and that is why I decided to start talking again today.

Nothing more nothing less.

As I said no hard feelings on my part for anything, and honestly you are the one that seems to need convincing I don't mind trying to make you a believer. But if Gruhn's appraisal can't do it I think it's best we just agree to disagree and go separate ways here.

I'm trying to be straight forward with you man in every way possible.

My last point:

Karma is a religious concept and has no place on TB - it may actually be a violation of TB rules.

Agreed 100% this is supposed to be a bass forum, so far my experience has been I've met lawyers and profits.

I find it funny that some people believe in things they can't see, such as religion and Karma and such
But you put a bass in their face and they flat out denounce you as a bold face liar.

Hell I have pictures ask karma to show you anything.
