Ibanez GSR 200. GREAT bass for the price point. Mine was really loud. I ended up de-fretting it, and like it better fretless I think

Jeez...my first bass cost me about $70 and had NO name brand and was probably the worst attempt at a production instrument ever. Haha but I think I was 16 at the time and it was all the money I could gather. It wasnt much, but it was what I had. I ended up giving it away to someone once I upgraded.

My first bass was a Yamaha BB400, I beat it to hell with buckle rash. It was brown stained, if I ever find it, i'll buy it again.
My first bass was a Fender MIM Jazz 5. It was a deep blue, almost purple. I traded in my electric and amp for it. Man. That was a sweet bass.
Mine was a 1973 Jazz bass my Dad bought for me. It cost $270.00 I still have it and play it quite a bit.
My first bass was a Washburn XB100. I actually bought another one when my brother began learning bass and I needed a cheap bass to take out of the country. It made it back in one piece, and thats what he's starting on.

my first bass (4 years ago) was a squire P-bass. I still have it and I dont plan on getting rid of it. The pic gaurd has been painted and other such things have been done to it and too many times I have thought of ripping out the frets so I can have a backup fretless, but I haven't. It will stay how it is forever and i'll hold on to it. Your first bass always feels like home no matter how annoyed it can make you.
My first bass was a 1964 Framus solidbody that was a piece of crap. Had guitar tuners that fell apart, had noisy pickups, had terrible neck dive, and I let it sit out in my garage and rot to the point where I threw it out. Today I see those basses going for $400 and over on Ebay. I R dum.
Kramer Pioneer Bass...cream with maple neck/fretboard and P/JJ setup. It was a sweet bass. Bought for $75.

My first was a 1998 Fender MIM Jazz, white with one of those all plastic pickguard/control plate combos. I still own it and use it at my church, though, I'm working to replace it and use it as only a backup. I've changed the pickguard to a tort, put on a real control plate, completely rewired it, put in new pots, Bartolini pups, and new knobs. I'll never get rid of it just because it was my first
Wow, the XB-100 is more popular than I thought. I used one of those for about a year, then I replaced it with my current bass, a Schecter Stiletto Elite-4. I still keep my old Washburn around as a backup and keepsake. I'll never let my first bass go. Whether it was a cheap p.o.s or not, its still my baby.
My Ibanez GSR200 was my first back in the 8th grade, its what started it all...

My first was a Crate starter package...just a rip off of a P-Bass, black with white pickguard. My first 5-string was a $150 Rogue LX-205b.
I remember my first was straight out of the Sears catalog, a sunburst jazz bass copy that came with a small amp for $99.00. After getting hooked within a year I talked my folks into getting me a 1981 Kramer XL24 brand new, all these years I kept it but haven't played it much since the late 80s. So I've just traded that off to DEVILMAN this past week, hopefully it will start getting used once again.
