What was your first bass guitar?

Still have my first, a 2000 Fender MIM Jazz:

My current main bass is a Sadowsky UV-70:

I also have:

G&L L-2000 USA '93
Lakland Skyline Joe Osborn
Fender MIM Precision
MTD Kingston Fretless

First bass ever was a two-pickup Global bass out of the Sears catalog (played through the stereo, then through a Holmes combo amp). It looked a lot like the one below...

Currently, I play a pair of custom-built Curbows, the latest in a long line of really nice instruments that I probably don't deserve. :)

In 1973, my grandmother bought a drum set for my brother from a couple looking to sell everything for a trip to Europe. They had a bass and wanted $300 for it. It was too much for her to pay so she offered $150. They took it. Two weeks later she showed up with a drumset and a 1969 Fender Precision.

Last year, my wife gave me a new Sadowsky #4812 for my birthday.
