No idea what brand it is. All I know is it's a mahogany body '51 P copy with an old Rhythmline neck on it. It used to play horribly until I yanked the old electronics (the pickup actually was an old Tele pup my granddad threw in because he didn't know what a bass pickup looked like) and refinished it. Now it looks like this:

70's plywood Memphis Jazz copy. It had been stripped and covered with bondo. I sanded it,painted it, put it back together and played it. It easily outweighed a T -40. Traded it and $450(1983 dollars) for a refinnished 61 Stacknob jazz. Easily the best move I've ever made as a bass player. (See the re-refinnished jazz in my avatar).
A baby blue Hagstrom II. made me a better man. It got modded around 1969 to have an EB3 bridge p/u in between the stock neck/bridge units, and the mandatory Syke-o-Delic paint job. Had it 5 years till I got my much pined for Precision. Don't think I ever changed the strings.....miss it.
My mother worked with this gentleman that was in a cover band called 'Just For Beer' and he had a bass and a pedal for sale. My mom said she would buy the bass, but I would have to buy the pedal. It was a 70s Lyle hollowbody and a Univox Superfuzz. The Lyle has been through a defret, broken pickups, loose bindings... Yup, doesn't work, but I still have it and the Superfuzz too. 
Ibanez GSR200. Bought it used last year, it's still my only bass. I figure I'll replace it with a 5-string sometime this year, but for now, it plays better than I do

Back in 1970,I was 12 I think, my first was a Kent(by Tiesco) hollowbody violin bass.
Three-tone sunburst, black tapewounds, $35 for the bass, $15 for strings and set-up.
No case, Mom and Grandma made a gigbag for it.
Man I wish I still had that axe.

My first bass was my 1976 Rickenbacker 4001, which I still own. I bought it about 15 years ago, because as a big Motorhead/Lemmy fan, I'd always wanted one and a sweet deal, that I could just not say no to, plopped itself into my lap. At the time, I was still playing guitar in my band(s), and I never had any intention of switching to bass... that happened pretty much by accident! I was in a dual guitar Metal band and we couldn't find a bassist. So, since I owned the Ric, I started filling in on "bass". Really, I was just playing rhythm guitar on bass. I plugged the Ric into my Marshall guitar stack, and played with full-on distortion. It sounded like Lemmy's sound on steroids, so I was happy, heheheh... anyway, over time, I got to enjoying playing bass a lot, and after a couple of gigs playing bass, the band and I both came to the same conclusion: it worked really well as a 4 piece, and I should stay on bass.
