My first bass was a Fender Jazz bass...

First bass back in the late 1980s was a Gibson RD Artist (still have it, too). Now, I have far too many basses to be healthy, but the ones I mainly play lately are a Fender CIJ fretless jazz and a Geddy Lee JB.
My first bass was a Memphis P-Bass copy pawn shop bargain.

My dad's old 1960-something Fender Musicmaster... Used to be sonic blue, but over the years faded to a sea green. Piece of junk, the neck is horrible, and the pickup is actually a stratocaster pickup... But it was good to start on. I still have it, mainly for novelty, and because I know I won't get too much if I sell it. I'm actually considering getting a new neck on it (make it a 5 string), a nice pair of EMG HRz pickups and a new preamp, and re painting it...
An old Global my parents bought new for me when I was 9. Incredible POS (bridge wasn't lined up with the fretboard, but we didn't know enough to know better then - we just trusted the salesman), but it was good enough to make me continue playing. My second bass was a Ricky 4001 that I bought new from money I saved (I started working at 13).
Squier Affinity Precision -> Ibanez GSR200 & Fender BG-31 Acoustic-> (Current) Fender BG-31, a different Squier Affinity Precision then previously mentioned, and a Squier Affinity Jazz V.

My first was an Ibanez GIO POS that my parents bought for me, along with the world's lousiest 35w combo amp.
I put Rotosounds on it and got to play through a good amp once. The tone was powerful and growly, and that's when I finally started trying to master the instrument.
Once the amp finally broke, I couldn't afford to buy another one, so I 'played acoustically on and off for a while. Eventually I traded the bass in and got a good price. I think it shaped my preference for thin necks.
These days I gig with a Fender Jaguar. I always practice with an SX PJ, which is a different animal but feels and sounds 70% as good as the Jag, which is still 10 times better than every other bass I've had except that magical Jag.

I started out with a Global copy of a p-bass and a 20 watt Marlboro Amp. Now I am playing a Lakland 55-02 deluxe, Eden traveler head, Mesa 15 cab and Avatar 12.
First one was early '80's P-knockoff. Its was white. Played like it looked. Ugh.
Present basses are Ibanez SR400 and Traben Array Limited 5. MUCH better.

First bass was a '78 Fender Mustang, got it in 1988. I still have it and will be playing it at church next Wednesday. Since then, I've acquired:
1) Squire Bronco (practice replacement for the Mustang) that has since been rebuilt with all new electronics and bridge.
2) Ibanez SR400
3) Dingwall AB1 fiver
4) Ministar Basstar (to take to work and on trips)
I currently have all of these and they all have such different characters and purposes, I don't see any of them leaving anytime soon.

EKO Hollow Bodied Violin-shaped bass--probably like RavenBassLady's--purchased in 1966 because Hofners weren't available yet where I lived.

77 Fender P-bass. Still own and play it. Lately my go-to bass is a Lakland U.S. Glaub P/J, with a Jazz taper neck. Best of both worlds as far as Fender style basses go. I also have a 69 Fender J-bass; a 98 Warwick Thumb NT; and a 05 Warwick P-nut Streamer Stage II. All of them get play time.
