What's all the hate for Pete Wentz?

I have to say I have no idea who he is other than he has a sig bass with no tone knob....I pay alot of attention to music that speaks to me.
That being said ..these points ring to me.

The fact that I could not tell a fall out boys song from anything else on the radio.
That they have boys in their band name.
And that his bass has no tone says alot to me.

I said I HEARD on one website that Robert Trujillo isn't very good I've never actually heard him before. That for the most part is not enough credible information. As for Pete Wentz... I never said he was bad nor good. I just asked what you guys think of him.

ROFL

That's the most uneducated statement about Trujillo ever. I mean, silly, dumb, idiotic, not based in fact, it doesn't compute etc etc. As far as Wentz - apparently you like him and you're posting passive-aggressively. You're a fan boy, ok, cool. But, you made yourself appear really low on the bass IQ with this post.
I never said he was a good nor bad bassist. I was just asking what you think of him. As for Trujillo I can't say much about him other than some websites and friends of mine said he's not very good compared to cliff burton. I don't really listen to metal so I can't really say much else other than that.

Cliff Burton has the halo of martyrdom so it's verboten to suggest that any other metal bassist could ever measure up to him. Trujillo is a slapper, at least what I've seen of him (which is not a lot), and I can imagine someone getting uptight about not having slap in metal or whatever. But objectively speaking, there's no questioning his abilities.

I think you are referring to the Fender "Mark Hoppus" bass.

That's usually only placed in the context of old Metallica vs new Metallica and in reality has no bearing on Trujillos abilities. He is capable of much more than the fat check he settled for by joining new Metallica and in all honesty, could pull off Cliffs licks and more, while doing a spider dance with dual pony tails.

Pete Wentz cannot play bass. Period. He's a scenster who put himself in the right place at the right time. Rockstar? yes, musician? no.

Robert Trujillo is a fine bassist. You disagree? Ozzy and Metallica fans disagree with you.

Sid Vicious? Another scenster, not musician. I'm not quite so sure he recorded anything on bass.

I forgot about Planitary - You're right, that one has some cool octave stuff and a decent groove. My daughter asked me to teach it to her, so I got pretty familiar with that one. She's the one who turned me on to them in the first place, because she wanted to learn some of their tunes. Off to youtube I went and was an instant fan. Wish I had been clued in to them when they were together. Have seen Frank at two solo shows with my daughter. Great shows, much edgier stuff than MCR. Frank was clearly the punk in the band, and a really decent, genuinely nice guy. Met him at a meet and greet.

My daughter asked for a bass BEFORE she got into MCR. I got her a silver short scale Jaguar. THEN she gets into them and I see MW has a silver Mustang sig - DOH!

Didn't know Frank had solo stuff. I'll have to check that out. Danger Days is by far my favourite MCR album, I know the album front to back too, Mikey's best playing IMO too.

Everytime I see hi-res pictures of the Mikey Way Mustang it makes me want to order one off eBay. That silver flake is beautiful.
