Whats your dream bass?

I've seen a video on how they build those Rickenbackers. Very labor intensive with a lot of highly skilled crafts people. They cut no corners. They are nice, and IMO you get a lot of good guitar for the money.

Hmmm...good question. Pete Skjold is building me a Skjoldslayer 5 right now, which may end up being that dream realized. If not, I think I may look into a 7-string one day, when I'm more proficient at playing chords. There are a few luthiers that build 7s, but Keith Roscoe is at the top for that job right now.

Ultimately it would have a 28,6" scale like my Mikro, but these only comes down to 30":

Unfortunately it would cost me 2800$+ to have it made, and it is not likely I'll get that kind of money to spend in the near future.

I have always wanted a MM stingray classic, but I'd probably get more mileage out of the five string version. It doesn't have as much eye appeal to me but the practical side of me says that would make more sense. Id love an American Spector V with the haz lab pre, but I doubt I'll ever come close to spending that much on a bass. A Euro model is in my long range sights though.

But if I was granted one wish, no strings attached and just something I could have without fear of repercussion, I would have to go for a Fodera. I love the body style of the yin yang five model but I would want it with just a solid color, without the gaudiness of the yin yang symbolism it has. That would be the end all of beauty meets function.

I already own it. A Fodera Monarch Elite, Alder semi-hollow body with Curly Walnut top, Alder tone block, Indian Rosewood board with vintage size frets, Duncan Dual Coils with the Pope preamp. Amazingly light at around 8 1/4 lbs, balances perfectly. Plays like a dream.
