Nice! What a cool design.

One of the guys I play in a band with has had a H&K for years and absolutely loves it. Until he got one he typically bought a new amp every year. He's very happy now. These aren't inexpensive, but the Germans make very solid products that are extremely reliable.

Singer in my band gave me a B52 slanted 4X12 on Wednesday. It weighs a ton. Someone gave him a cab so he gave me the B52.
That's all I have so far besides a tiny Marshall practice amp. Hope to get a tube amp eventually. Guitar is a 90's Strat. Also have a Yamaha classical.

Carvin CT4 (basically a PRS clone) into a DV Mark head powering a Carvin 2x12 cab. I have a DV Mark tube amp that is on the fritz so I'm using my little solid state head for now. I typically use the clean channel on the amp with drive coming either from a Marshall Jackhammer pedal on the OD setting (my "stock" sound) or Fuzzrocious Demon (change of pace and/or milder drive settings).

The "Carvin guitar with moderate output humbuckers + clean amp + Marshall Jackhammer" has pretty much been my standard guitar sound for 15+ years.

A lot of us also play guitar as well as bass, so just for fun, thought it would be interesting to hear what gear us talkbass guitarists prefer for our guitar rigs right now.

What gear do you prefer these days? Has it changed a lot over time? Do you use it live or just at home? Are you a pedal person? Modeling? Tube amps? Plugins? Acoustic? Gassing for anything?

I'll start:

Headless guitars and single coil pickups are my jam. Right now, main squeeze is an Ibanez ICHI10, the Ichika Nito signature model. It's basically a headless, 5lb strat. Really happy with it!

In the last few months I've transitioned from tube amps and pedals to a Fender Tone Master Pro modeler. Still love tube amps and pedals! But the all-in-one is so flexible and convenient, and it sounds great. Also love the organizational aspects. Being able to organize patches into songs and set lists is really practical for gigging.

For monitoring, the TMP output is routed to a QSC CP12 wedge. Sounds pretty good to me. Would love to try out a FR/FR that's designed specifically for guitar, just to hear the difference.

Thanks! Yeah bass is not supported very well yet. There is literally only one bass patch on the TMP right now. Just a generic studio tube preamp into a compressor. Sounds very good, but would be great if they added some bass amps and cabs!

I have a vintage Fender Vibro-Champ that I use for:

• Noodling around on guitar and other higher register instruments
• Recording and re-amping better guitar players than myself
  
• Re-amping/triggering snare drum
• Re-amping gritty/vibey vocals
• Tracking Bass VI (with a HPF to protect the speaker and even out the response)

I upgrading the amp's speaker and adding a switched speaker output, so the amp sounds better and is significantly more versatile than it was in stock configuration.

Gear that's too nice for how good I am: AmStd Strat that I hard tailed the trem and a Mesa dual rectifier combo. If I started getting regular guitar gigs, I would buy a lighter, quieter combo, but everytime I try, they ask me to play bass.

My only interest in guitar is death metal playing all the chunky riffs that don't sound the same on bass
-Cheap Ibanez 2 humbucker guitar tuned D standard
-Sansamp GT2
-Tech 21 Q strip
-Headphone pedal

Marshall amp settings on GT2, LPF on the Q strip- the two mid controls let me find and completely obliterate all midrange frequencies for maximum CHUG

I’ve got a dual terror and orange 212 cab. I mained guitar for 20 years before switching to bass. I really don’t have the urge to play guitar anymore so I might just let it go for a small house amp

I’m not much of a guitar player I have played off and on since I got out of college. But I’m even rustier than usual because I’ve played bass almost exclusively for the past six years or so. My guitar rig is MUCH simpler/smaller than my bass rig:

ELECTRIC:

• 1982-ish Squier Strat (wish it was early enough to have one of the original JVxxxxx serial numbers, but at least it’s one of the earliest SQxxxxxx’s). I replaced the original electronics with a David Gilmour EMG preamp/pickup set. I do still have the original electronics.
• 20 Watt Marshall DSL combo amp
• A small pedalboard made up of whichever pedals that I’m not currently using on my bass pedalboard

ACOUSTIC

• Taylor 214ce DLX acoustic guitar
• Fishman Loudbox Mini acoustic amp
• I also had an old Yamaha FG series acoustic. However, I found out when we moved my son into his new apartment after he moved to Florida last year that he took it with him. I wasn’t using it and I still have a nice Taylor at home, so I couldn’t be too mad. But it still would have been nice to be asked ….
