My rig has been pretty fluid. Thanks in advance for your patience:

Most of last year I ran a weekly residence jam where I had to haul a vocal PA; I tried to keep my rig simple. D-style modified Fender HRDLX with a Celestion G12-65. Maybe a chorus or uni-vibe, but never a need for any dirt pedals; The amp managed that.

On gigs where the room acoustics allow some flex and I don't have to haul PA gear, this sometimes gets used. 2001 Fuchs early prototype ODS with '70s Music Man transformers. Andy Fuchs built this one in his New Jersey basement.

Cab is an open back 112 with a Celestion G12-65. With a 2002 Gibson CS-336:

I've also got one remaining Marshall 4-holer left out of three 50-watt plexis, a bass/1986 circuit (Duane Allman circuit) with an added post-phase-inverter master volume that does a nice job producing a managable volume level without losing the tone and feel of a cranked bass plexi. Also has a 3-position bright cap selector that goes from bass circuit/no cap to lead circuit cap. It's a great sounding amp, though the head alone is pretty bulky/heavy, and it because it really sounds best through at least a 212, it doesn't see a lot of use these days.



That said, it's got some character. This clip is straight in, no dirt pedals, around 8 years ago. The dry sound's probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it's dynamic range.

Agree. But I’ll probably break down and just buy a Crazy Tube Circuits Killer V pedal to use with what I already have long before I’ll ever be able to justify spending that much money on an actual Magnatone amp for myself. (On the other hand, maybe if my guitarist SO decided she’d also like one to use as a second amp to complement the ‘65 Reverb Deluxe she usually plays through…)

I have a few. My main rig includes a Marshall DSL and a 1967 Fender Super Reverb, wired up A/B. In front I have a wah, tuner, phase, vibe, nocturne brain (for gretsch use) and then the A/B switch... A is a DOD YJM308, TS-9, NS-2, into the DSL (Analogman DD-3) in fx loop... on the B side I have a CS-2, King of Tone, Zendrive, DOD Fx65, Analogman DD-3 into the 67 Super

I have a Lab Series L5 that I often use without any effects.

Then my Peavey Bandit which is kind of a grab and go amp with nice cleans and dirt built in.

I use my AxeFX most of all of them at home, both for guitar and bass practice.

I have 2 electrics both inexpensive but with great pickups and set ups that often get played by guest musicians who are always impressed. Ibanez GAX20 with a Pearly Gates and coil taps and Kramer Pacer with Floyd Rose and custom Seymour Duncan pickups and trick wiring. Acoustics I have an Aria classical [my longest owned guitar] a Hoyer 12 string and a Takamine acoustic parlor sized guitar. Lots of effects collected over 50 years. For amps on the rare occasion I decide to use an amp I have a late 60's Bassman and a GK MLS head into either a custom 1x10 or a Mitchell 'sand box' 1x12 Small-Thiele with a Peavey Black Widow that is very loud. When recording bass thru a speaker I have a custom built Steve-O sealed Pine 1x15. The wood was salvaged from a 150 year old barn and the speaker is also custom with a cloth surround. Not loud but tons of tone. I use either an ancient SM57 or a CAD KBM412. For recording I most often use a Zoom GCE3 for processing as it mates up perfectly with my DAWS which Harrison MixBus 7 is my main squeeze.

Hagstrom with P90s using DI or the Yamaha acoustic with a SE-VR1 mic straight into the audio interface…so many awesome plugins now I sold my guitar amps.

But this is SG was bought, modded, and painted by my guitarist and very close friend from high school. The back used to say "Hot Moms will Prevail" but unfortunately he sanded it off (poorly) before I acquired it from him. He was mass clearing a bunch of old gear and when this came up I told him it's gotta at least stay in the family/friend group. I'm still a godawful guitarist, but it's surprisingly easy to play and setup well.

I haven't played guitar on stage in many years, but I've come close in some projects and wouldn't mind playing guitar in the right band.

My amp is a Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb, which is perfect for my purposes. I love the built-in classic Fender Tremolo and the adjustable wattage that gives me high gain sounds at low volume. It's definitely gig-worthy too, so I'm ready if the opportunity arises.

For guitars, I generally prefer Strat types. Mine are a 2004 MIA Fender with Lace Sensor Hot Gold pickups and a 2022 G&L USA Legacy HSS. I absolutely love the Fender, which has a fantastic neck and incredible tone with the Lace pickups. The G&L is great too. I'm still getting used to it after owning it for two years, partly because I haven't been playing much guitar. The neck is amazingly comfortable, and I like the 12" radius fretboard. The G&L pickups sound great.

I used to have a fantastic MIA Double Fat hardtail Strat (2001), which came stock with Seymour Duncan humbuckers. I regret selling that one, so I'm contemplating another HH hardtail guitar, possibly a Schecter or Charvel Superstrat type, or maybe a Les Paul.

I also have my dad's old 1949 Gibson archtop, which is a wonderful guitar, but I almost never play it and I plan to sell it this year.

My guitar rig is my bass rig. I posted searching for a guitar amp with features like my Genz Benz Streamliner. @agedhorse suggested just using the Streamliner. I did, and it sounds fantastic with a guitar.

I have a Glarry Telecaster copy I bought for less than $100. I have a little M-Vave effects cube I bought off Temu I think was less than $40. A friend is giving me an old Fender 15L amp.

I have a large collection of guitars and vintage tube amps - most of which I bought messed up and then restored.

It’s been years since I played guitar regularly and even more years since I played guitar in bands but when I did I mostly played Les Pauls and Telecasters in various pickup configurations. Far less often, I might have been seen playing a strat or some hollowbody or other.

For amps, I generally used a ‘77 Vibrolux Reverb for larger rooms or one of three smaller amps for smaller bar gigs: a ‘66 Princeton Reverb (my #1), a ‘61 Gibson GA19-RVT Falcon or a ‘65 Vox Cambridge Reverb.

In most cases my signal chain was guitar/cord/amp but sometimes I used a Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive or a Fulltone Fulldrive. Not very often.

For recording I had several other amps I was pretty fond of, too, but those four were my mainstays.

My favorite acoustics are a Gibson J-60, and a Martin OM-28 vintage reissue but I have a few other honeys as well.

I have about 8 electrics I think. But I’m currently on a Tele kick recently. The latest is a Squier Affinity that I modded with some hot Seymour Duncan pickups. This thing screams. I play it through a Strymon Iridium so I can play at all hours with headphones.

At one point, I had too many Mesa Boogie tube amplifiers. I have owned the Mark II to the V, HeartBreaker, LoneStar, Trenoverb, Rocket 444, Subway Blues, Transatlantic and Maverick. I only kept the Blue Angel head, Mark IV and the Studio 22. And I have a Frenzel, Fender Princeton and Champ XD. My 2 112 abinets are only Mesa with the back breaking EVM 12.

Guitars 2 baritone - one acoustic and electric. Also Gibson J45 à Hirade classical, a pine tele and a Godin semi hollow and new to me Jazzmaster. I've never played one all these years.

Also a Charlie Hunter Hybrid bass+guitar.
