Been playing a JooDee Performer for the last 40 years. It's just a Precision copy. The body is sen, and I put a Bartolini and a BadAss on it, back in '78 or so.

What are the plexigrass pieces behind the pickups? A P version of a ramp?

Precisely! I made them to require no mods and only use the pickguard mounting hole.

My 1963 P, bought by my parents for me in 1967. Repainted around '72, and the neck is from that year as well - broken truss rod made it necessary to replace.

My Stingray 5. I’ve had it almost 10 years. That’s the longest I’ve kept any instrument I’ve ever owned. A lot of others have come and gone, but I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it. (Maybe the one on the right will stay for a while, too!)

The only bass I own that's untouchable is my Ibanez GiO GSR190.
Yes, I do have better basses but I'm open to trading or selling any of my basses except that Ibanez. Reason being it was a gift from my wife when we were starting out as a family, had just moved and little money to spend on non-essentials at the time.

It' feel like a well broken in old baseball glove or a very old comfortable pair of jeans.

Any bass player who has ever played it, asked if I'd EVER consider selling it.

I would have said the 62 PBass until I got the modded 72 PJ. That one does it all. The pre-CBS ones aren't going anywhere any time soon, but I'm taking that 72 to the grave with me.
