Good thinking Batman ; ), we are all just too young and happy.. it takes years for an obsessions to properly take root in your life and cause the required bitterness to really start destroying all your happiness, to the point where you want to go and destroy it as it has ruined everything you love..OK, at the risk of being a nit picking d**k, I don't think y'all get the concept of the White Whale. It's not something you supremely desire, it's something you are obsessed with finding so you can DESTROY it out of revenge. I'll go hide in a dark corner now ...

Back in the early 80's I needed a new bass and back then I had my eye on a Univox Mosrite copy, but alas it was out of my price range.
I had one...sold it for 1850 almost 13 years ago, doh! This is my Moby: Rick 4002. Had one in white slip through my fingers almost twenty years ago. Could have been mine.

Yes, my local music store had one (Chuck Levin's in DC). I tried it.Was that thing sold outside of Japan? No way you can find a replacement bridge pickup. I have no interest in owning that thing but I desperately want to try it.

Everyone has that one thing that they are looking for and they haven't found it, or seen it in the wild.
What is yours? Mine is the Ibanez SR2010ASC - The Ashula - 4 strings fretted, 2 strings fretless.

You must have been really poor. They were only worth $100 back then. Heck, in 1974 when I first saw one for sale new it was only $100
This is mine:

True enough, Ishmael. But modern use of the word "obsessed" rarely results in the obsessor being lashed to the side of a whale with a harpoon line. You can seek your white whale without wanting to be Capt. Ahab, just place a bid on ebay.
