60's i was born and finding my place in this world with diapers and alot of drooling.
70's struggling with school, just started getting into music moved out of OH to Cali, chasing girls and drooling.
80's best time to start learning bass, graduated HS, Media Arts school for audio engineering, partying doing questionable things bought my first bass, i was drooling.
90's getting married/house/car/domestication, in several bands...The wife forced me to stop drooling.
2000's moving to the sticks out of NYC and tristate area, still playing music/partying tho not as much..
2010 to current......(see last decade)

I am only on the latest album, (the one i linked, called “There’s Something Here”.)
I used 3 Rickenbackers for recording that album. The 2 pictured are my Fireglo Customised Laredo with rw strings,and my stock jetglo Laredo with Rick/Maxima flatwounds.
I used the session producer’s ‘76 4001 for our version of Magical Mystery Tour.

As for privacy rights, this thread is veering quite close to politics, but I am partial to the idea of "data rights." Plenty of people and organizations who shouldn't have or use my data can claim to be protecting my "privacy." I am not really a private person, but I should get to choose the terms on which I share.

Let’s have some fun with this and take it a step further…

Consider this for a moment. Since you can’t take a person’s name or likeness and use it for commercial purposes without obtaining permission and paying compensation, the same reasoning should be applied to your personal information. If someone is making money off of selling the information they collected about you, then you should be entitled to some form of compensation for it.

Maybe we could create and register with a personal information licensing agency and anyone who wanted to use the data our activities generated would have to go through this agency to use it?

I know they’ll argue they “anonymize” our data before they sell it. But how is that really any different than taking your name off a book you wrote and then turning around and selling to someone without paying you a royalty? Sure. They’ll tell you targeting ads works to your benefit. But isn't that just another example of saying they’re “paying” you with “exposure” instead of cash?

Obviously they feel your data is valuable. Check out the prices of some “selected customer” contact lists they sell.

So, I'm a bass player in a metal band. I'm their third bass player. We play mainly our stuff.
Although a solo guitarist use wah pedal in almost every song and our drummer is having a hard time keepin' up with tempo, we had a lot of gigs. We played on every continent.
Now, with that virus thing, I'm trying to rediscover my bass playing and stay home safe.

Something I find amusing on a social forum site like TB are the people who provide profile information, but then block who is allowed to see it.

It could make sense on a job nob recruiter site, or a professional/biz site like LinkedIn. With LinkedIn you can be selective about what parts of your profile are publicly visible. Handy when you want to exercise control over who sees what, but you still don’t want things like your contact info and business affiliation to be totally visible.

But here? Why not just leave the page blank.

I made a mistake and put the wrong information where I could have came up with a cool username.... so....

I did the same initially - but then asked the mods to change it and they gracefully accommodated the request.

Probably doesn't matter as I gave enough info on my page that it would be easy for anyone - who might have any reason to care - to figure out more. I don't really care one way or the other. On the other hand, I have learned to appreciate the 'ignore' feature.

People get all butt hurt about sharing information. I'm on another site where your user name has to be your real name, and people make up real-sounding names to buck the system.
I don't really care if my tag number appears in a photo on Facebook. We will all be in a pine box way sooner than we think anyhow.

I used to be a commercial user because I converted 4 string Rickenbackers into 5 string Rickenbackers. And I build a lot of Frankensteined basses mainly for myself. But then Rickenbacker came out with a very good 5 string bass so my business of converting and selling basses has pretty much stopped. I still do work for people ... but not very often, and i sell a bass pretty much only when someone comes to me and asks to buy a bass that I own. Some people call me a luthier, well I am not really that. I am a good bass tech, and I assemble good parts basses, again mainly for my use. I am also a good bass player and professionally I am a Revit Bim manager for an Architectural firm in Denver, and I am an ordained minister. I am also an organic gardener and a bio-hacker after the example of Dave Asprey.
