Who's rocking two fifteens, no tweeters?

GK 800RB with Hartke VX-215. It has a working tweeter but it doesn't kick in very often (if ever) with my settings. Great tone for me.

I pull the output from the 12" in my ashdown EB150, run it into one Laney 15" PA speaker, and throw the ext cab out into the other. Though sometimes I chain all 3 together, bit of 12" doesn't hurt too much. Must get pics sometime, old Laney PA 15"s I've had for a good 20 years now, but they sound excellent, despite being drowned doing outdoor PAs a few times.

Here's another pic of my 2 x TL606 stack, on stage this time:

I'm loving these. I just swapped out the EV's for Kappalite 3015's and love the sound, and the weight savings (about 12 pounds per cab). I also just did a smaller gig with one of the cabs, and it went extremely well. Love these cabs!

Next up, throwing drivers in the Sunn 200s ...

If so, you've got about 250 lbs. of cabs.

I have one myself. It's quite the ballbuster, though it is also quite the heavy duty low end bass cab.

I've got to admit that combo (DB750 + NV610) is the BEST pairing IMHO. It is pure Rock & Roll. It is the "New" Vintage SVT/810 that weighs less and sounds better, IMHO of course.

yep bw 115....yes they are heavy but in a way that's a good thing....bigger and heavier is harder to steal

Yeah, they kick out some serious chest caving low end...and I'm sure anyone attempting to steal them would think twice as soon as they lifted one.

Are they exact TL606 clones, or do they just loosely follow the design?

Too old!

I know they were designed with the TL606 in mind, but don't know if they are exact. They do have the original EVM-15L's in them. L as in lead not B for bass, but they work for bass - go figure.

The TL606 had a removable port, didn't it? Perhaps someone else knows?

Barefaced Vintage (2x15) and a Barefaced Compact (1x15). The Vintage is mine, the Compact *was* mine but Alex is a gent and PXed it for the Vintage today. Gotta say, this thing looks AWESOME, but plugging it in tomorrow morning will be a truly groundshaking experience

I've never taken a tape measure to one, but unless there's some fancy bracing or something in the Mesa's, it's a TL606 box.

True TL606's were provided with a removeable port cover that blocked off the middle third of the port. EV called it 'step-down' equalization or something. I think this cover allowed a 'tighter' EV-15b. Opening up the port allowed for greater low end extension, I think.

None than I can see yet, though the band's crew are notoriously rough on everything so it'll be interesting to see how it looks at the end of the year! I suspect it'll just have the usual scraps from loading in and out of the van; I reckon the grille will hold up to a fair bit of abuse after having a natter to Alex about it and hhis demo of the "give" in it!

Hehe, I'd love to have both the Compact and the Vintage, but the Compact went back to Alex yesterday as a PX for its bigger bro! Plus, I have neither the money nor the minimum impedance required to run both at the same time!!

I say nix to tweeters.. I have used Bag End 15's in the past, but they are too much for me nowadays..
