See that Barefaced 2x15" above? It weighs under 50lbs and has good response up to 4kHz. And you'd need a 3x15" with E140s to get close to the LF output!

It looks hot, no doubt. Too bad you're in England. Great for the English/Europeans, but there needs to be a company over here making cabs like that. I guess there's always LDS.

My Son and I just completed a homebrew 215 with jbl drivers. The baskets have alnico magnets and weigh about 16lbs each. These baskets were re-coned by The Rock Shop in Vancouver with 2225H kits.

Dave, the owner, says they'll take 250 watts RMS and around 400 program. The cab is tuned to 55 Hz and the 3db down point is at 52 Hz. This setup sounds bloody amazing. It's very efficient, so little amplifier power is required to generate viscera rattling bass.

So, 32 lbs, plus one sheet of 3/4" birch at 68 lbs = 101 lbs, give or take. No pics yet, I'm out of town working and the cab needs cosmetics. See you guys in mid December!

I will be. After the first of the year I will have a Jeff Berlin Sig combo to go along with my 1x15 Peavey Black Widow cab. I'm pretty confindent that a tweeter will never cross my mind. I've never had a tweeter so I doubt I'll miss it.

I would love to find a twin for my Road Ready Mesa 115 EV cab but they are few and far between. I picked up this newer Powerhouse 115 this weekend and although it does have a horn, this is a pretty sweet sounding pair. I turned the horn down but not off so that it doesn't burn up and put the tweeterless cab on top to minimize the high end. Its working well so far. Sounds huge!

that´s for the medium size gigs,festivals etc.
on larger gigs i kinda go for 2 18¨ speakers.that´s going thru an aphex exciter with bass maxed.no matter what the situation i always feel it first =p

Once I had a Sunn 215BH cabinet -- 2 15s in a rear-loaded horn configuration. Drove it with a Marshall 100w lead head. No mud at all, even using my old EB-3 on varitone position 1 ("mudbucker" only with high-end choke.) Now I use 2 115 combo amps stacked up, each with a horn.

If I ever decide to build a cabinet, I think it will be a reproduction of the 215BH.

How do you wire the two combos together?

Looking on her Myspace pictures, it seems she uses a Digitech RP-something multi-effects...so probably a mono in-stereo out setup to the two combos.

I used to play 15"/no tweeters some years ago. All homemade stuff with Eminence Gamma 15 in the 1x15" cabs, Kappalite 3015 in the 2x15 cab:

Then I downsized to a 2 x 1x12" stack.
