Who's rocking two fifteens, no tweeters?

Someone say something about my English made hand built Morgan Aero 8?

shame about the head though (that and the bass drum mic, definitely not using one of them on it again and definitely having the mid driver miced). Had a nicer Laney for a bit but the power amp blew, followed by an external poweramp blowing... along with the NV...

Bills right though, 15s with mid drivers rock, if your not into really high highs there's no point in a tweeter. Manufacturers tend not to use mid drivers cos they're more expensive and push the price of the cab up.

Heard alot of 15s that do past 2k nicely, but the off-axis is horrible if your not stood very far away from the thing as Bill said. If you want a really old school sound you won't need much past 2k anyway.

I started with two fifteens and have stuck with it. I have no use for a tweeter. I currently run two stock Ampeg SVT-15e cabinets.

One idea I've been kicking around is I might replace my stock speakers with Eminence KappaLite 3015's. I hear they sound amazing and the lighter weight would be a nice bonus. Does anyone here have experience with them?

I dig the tried and true 8x10 refrigerator too but I do not dig hauling it...

1 or 2 and sometimes 3. I'm sitting here trying to talk myself out of picking up the phone and ordering another S15B-D. I'm somewhat afraid it will lead to yet another pair of S15-D's

My 1st cab was a home-made 1x15, 2nd was Carvin 1x15 -- I loved that metal grille look. Then I found an Ampeg 2x15 in the local bargain paper... ( think : craigslist ). And I still have it. It doesnt get out much. I also have a SVT-115E, which I'm thinking about getting a 2nd and dumping my SVT-210HE... The more I've played with tweeters and 10s in the last few years, I keep going back to 15s and no tweets. The only modern cab I like lately is the GS212. When I get one, I'm installing an on-off switch for that tweet. Anywho, YMMV.

How tall are you?;)

You guys have me going--I have a Dr. Bass 1x15 that I was gonna order a 2x10 to perch on top, but now I'm thinking---get another 1x15.
I do play lotsa reggae and whatnot . . . . . . hmmm

I regularly use a pair of 15s without tweeters and like 'em for a vintage sound.

I also have to agree with Bill on all counts regarding the dispersion limitations of the 15. My other cabinet choice is an EBS 611 (15+10+tweeter) that has a more consistant tone as I walk across a stage.

I'd really like to try a well designed cabinet with even polar and frequency response. Perhaps it is time to fire up the table saw!
