Although I grew up playing 2x15 rigs I now use a Bergie NV425. I love 15s. Always will and for the record if I own a cab with a tweet it is always shut off.

Who's rocking two fifteens, no tweeters?

I'm just putting my two fifteen rig together thanks to a good christmas bonus from work. I started out with a set of mackie powered 15" cabs that have 400 watt's per cab. I'm waiting on all the parts, but I scored a spankin' new db 680 on here last week, and i've also go a Millenia M-2b coming any day now. My rig will consist of 13 tubes all in all. I'm chompin' at the bit to get this thing put together. right now i'm just running a presonus preamp through the mackie's and am shifting the foundation on my house. now i'm just waiting on the tone=). merry christmas
The last show I played with my electronic-esque band I played through two 15's for the show because my regular rig was having problems. Someone told me the plate glass window was flexing and the guy who lived in the apartment above the venue had stuff falling off his walls and his standing fan had tipped over. OOPS!
I also grew up on 2x15's. First, a no-name that in retrospect may have been a Traynor, around 71 or 72. Then, whatever came with an Ampeg B25. Then, what came with a Sunn Concert Bass, with the big slot port on the side -- that one was a loud and mean rock and roll machine. I still have the Sunn head; the cabs are long, long gone.
Those cabs are a bear to wrestle in and out of the car, up and down the stairs, etc. I'm very happy with modern (lightweight, modular) gear, but I have great nostalgia for that old gear.

I'm using a late-80's Mesa/Boogie Diesel 2x15EV, the 800-watt version, along with a Mesa Titan V12.
ME am! Either My Bergantino NV215 usually with the 6" hi freq driver off!!!!! Sounds AWESOME!!! especially w/ some overdrive outta the V4BH. 
Or quite often I take my 2 1x15"s-an Aguilar GS115(tweeter off of course) & an old EV TL 606 (1x15")- this rig sounds SUPER- the 2 single 15" cabs together just have something a single cab of 2 x 15"s hasn't got-- c'mon U tech boys tell me it's couplings or sumthin "scientific" ;-)
BUT I DO love the 2 single 15 cabs together-espesh. w/ some distortion/OD happening also-either thru the V4 being pushed till it's natural tube OD kicks in, or with a pedal. either way- it';s PURE vintage sounding bass bliss!!!!!!!!

Hey cool rig, I've been running my 800 on top of three S15-D's! How do you like the S15B-D on the bottom? I've been thinking about replacing one of my S15-D's with and S15L-D for a little more bottom.

I can see the appeal of the mid driver. If you want to hear every nuance of your attack, not have it sound annoying, and still use 15"s, it's the best way to get it. But if you mic a 15" up, you will get all the high end of the 15" in the PA. And I think people who use tweeterless 15" rigs aren't all that concerned with hearing flat up to 8k. 4k is usually more than enough for us. I have to admit I'm really enjoying not having a bright attack for once.

We're a drum and bass stoner rock band, so there are no guitar cabs taking up space.
We haven't played any shows with stages yet, so far just DIY house shows in crummy little basements... Last show we played the ceiling was so low that I couldn't even stack both my amps on top of my rig like in the picture. We take up a very small amount of space compared to a full 5 piece band.
And to keep this post on topic, I have to say, out of the 4 cabs I use, the only one I'd use just by itself is the 2x15. I love me some 15's.
