Woodstock 50 Lineup

Because Woodstock was a rock and folk festival with live musicians. They should stay true to their roots. There are plenty of other festivals where people can see hip-hop if they want.
Actually, the original Woodstock was advertised as An Aquarian Exposition and 3 Days of Peace and Music. Not much mention of Rock 'n Roll there. It was a festival featuring popular music of the day, including acts such as Joan Baez, Richie Havens, Arlo Guthrie, Ravi Shankar (not very R 'n Roll) plus rock bands like Mountain, Ten Years After, Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Who and more. If the original Woodstock taught us anything, it was to be open minded to all forms of music, and to all people too. By the way, were you even alive for the first Woodstock? Did you go? Is that why you're so passionate about this discussion?

Yup. Less than 1/3 of the original lineup was Rock. It was more about ‘community’, the music was secondary.

Man, the original was just a lining up of the planets that produced a historical event.

It's a shame people have been trying to recapture that day and/or cash in on it ever since.

What, you don't think the original promoters were trying to make as much money as they could?
