This looks like a great little tool. My biggest hesitation is, what if the bulk of your music doesn't mesh with any of the 200+ pre-loaded patterns? I know you can load up your own mp3's but you need tools and some knowlegde to create those. I don't have a midi device but I've spent a little time with ProTools trying to make drum tracks. Haven't been too pleased with my work. It's definitely a case of operator deficiency and I'm sure that could be overcome by putting a bunch of time in to really learn the program. Any suggestions for the quickest way to create decent drum tracks without going through a large learning curve? Is it essential to have a midi device?

I don't think you need any sort of dedicated MIDI device. They will have their own software for creating beats, but beats from MIDI files will also work.
ProTools is terrible for MIDI work and their included soft synths are pretty underwhelming.
Try literally any other DAW. Ableton is probably the most straightforward for tightly rhythmic stuff, though their synths aren't much better if you're trying for realism.

Just got an email update about the Beat Buddy saying the next email will be coming directly from Beat Buddy to confirm shipping! It also had a message about the Beat Buddy branded (additional) footswitch. Didn't take much arm twisting to get me to order it... it's only $29. Maybe more, maybe less than other footswitches out there, but it sure is purty!

Yeah that foot switch looks so nice actually...man. I was thinking of ordering some specially made ones (x2 because I have an Infinity Looper I want/need one for) for a few dollars cheaper, but man does that look great.
I'm also interested in the right angle MIDI cable. So much so, in fact, that if right angle doesn't matter to you, you can save a few bucks and order the non-right angle one I already have in the classifieds.

Anyone else having trouble getting to mybeatbuddy.com? I clicked the link in the indiegogo update yesterday and it loaded up, but this morning the links are broken and when I go to the home page I just get a Panelbox login.

Same story here, I went to the page yesterday, still had pages loaded in my browser, didn't notice anything until you pointed it out. Several people are mentioning it on their Facebook page. Maybe the footswitch & cable announcement caused extra traffic? I won't worry unless it lasts until tomorrow or beyond...
I agree with that 100%. Not looking to get something without putting effort into it. What I am looking for is

I think the learning curve in programming drum tracks is equivalent to the amount of control you get over the programming. I use lots of different programs. Easiest I think is probably garageband on my iPad. EZ drummer 2 has a little bit more to learn, and you have to pay for it, but its pretty awesome and user friendly. Quite certain u can export midi tracks from either program.

Nevermind, I see you already did an Indiegogo campaign, glad it was successful! That'll teach me to read through the 30 page thread before posting...
