Awesome playing and worship team.....you must know the camera person pretty well though. Seems like you are featured a lot. Most video teams I see hardly know the bass guitar exists, ha. Usually they focus on the lead vocalists, the electric guitar, and maybe the drummer. How many people attend the services each week at your church?

No one ever notices. They give me a $20 DI and I change it out for the noble instead, and they say nothing lol

So I went to adjust my VP-JR, since it wasn't going all the way off on heel down, and then the string broke. Just glad it did it now and not during service. Ordering two kits so I'll always have one on hand.

Also, figured out why my RV-6 was causing so much noise. The output jack was completely loose and just needed to be tightened. Now it's as solid as ever. Such an easy fix but I've ignored it and dealt with it since Christmas, lesson learned, just do it!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We do most of this (for Jesus) for our own enjoyment and gratification. The average congregant and even the average church sound guy/girl is oblivious to the advantages of using good gear.

For that, you are ENCOURAGED to whine! In fact, I would whine FOR YOU! We use the DI on the Genz Streamliner I leave at my church - it is really quite good, although no where near your Noble pedal. It is pretty close to the JDI that I have, though.

I am blessed that our sound person (soundlady?) is trained, interested and has GREAT ears. In some of the churches I sub at the singers end up sounding like they are singing from the bottom of a septic tank. We had a SWR combo that I replaced with the Genz head and an Accugroove Tri-115 and I switched the 1-15 cab out for the Accugroove El Whappo. She liked the El Whappo a lot, but did worry about me getting too loud as the sound is really seductive. I let he know that she did not have to worry...there was NEVER enough bass per my Wife! Of course, she said the same thing about drums when I played them.

Very true. My "effect" are pretty much set and forget. Right hand placement and pickup pan are my main tools, followed by some slight (or even more aggressive at times) EQ changes.

I FOR SURE get that congregation's don't notice anything bass tone-wise, and I definitely acquire nice equipment for MY ears...but let me provide another angle. A few WL's...maybe v-e-r-y few (mine included though)...do care about bass tone, and effects. I've been asked to bring an octave, chorus, something "synthy," or some "noticeable" distortion pedal, for a certain song section intentionally scheduled on my week...as I'm the only one (of five bass players) who has a pedalboard. I've never been asked to bring a delay, reverb, or compressor though! ;)

All guitar players are asked to be very careful about on full-time OD pedal configurations...to keep their channels clean/minimal hiss in everyone's IEMS...

Going minimal equipment is fine, too...it's all good. As I follow the P&W related threads...it's a pretty amazing variance between everyone's playing situation. Yet, there are some very common frustrations, too. :banghead:

Very happy with the Flashback Mini, it's recently replaced an EQD Space Spiral. I'm using the Pro Guitar Shop EP-3 TonePrint as I really like the tape delay sound (and in a very compact package). I originally bought the pedal to use the Janek Gwizdala Sausage and Beer TonePrint but ended up liking the EP-3 sound more.

Only tend to use it when I'm higher up on the neck, during intros or softer verses with some simple lines or chords, to fill things out.
