I like the color and tone I get with my passive P from the LA-1A. Just not sure I want that with the active Roscoe's. Still experimenting. Not sure I want a 2nd $600 compressor either. I go from no pedals to boutique in a week.
I know someone with a Cali76 for sale.

I've been thinking of getting another Cali..
I like my Keeley Bassist alright, but to my ears.. there's just something about the Cali... and I miss it

Okay. I won't say "I'm done," because we all know better than that. Heck, I have an MXR Thump on the way tomorrow just for kicks. I will just say, "I am REALLY happy with this sound." Don't let the sheer volume of pedals fool you. This every pedal I own, lol, with the exception of a few I'm selling. The core tone is:
Bass > Tech21 YYZ (set with just a little grind) > Joe Meek FloorQ > Broughton SVPre > Broughton HPF/LPF > DI
Creamy, grindy deliciousness. Works great for modern worship and just about anything else. I've been sort of on the fence with the SVPre for a bit, but running the YYZ into it really helped give more definition to the low end and added a very pleasing grind. They work very well together. Way better than either on their own, in my opinion.

The Keeley is great for what it does. But colored, it is not. That's where something like the Cali comes into play.
The Cali76 CB is the best compressor I've ever seen for basses that may be a bit warm. It adds a little something to the punch and clarity to really help it standout in a mix. I really loved it with basses like Roscoes but not with the brighter Devon basses I owned.
I just did a test with my BeatBuddy stereo output. I ran the left and right outputs of the BeatBuddy into separate DI's and into my soundboard. At the sound board, I panned one input hard left and the other hard right. I then started through different beats to see what I could find. I ran across Michael Jackson's 'The Way You Make Me Feel' and found that at different parts of the song (starting with the intro, I believe) and various fills through out many of the sections, there are tom fills that start right and go left (or vice versa). I also found some of the fills will put the final cymbal hit to the right or to the left channel. I found a nice mix of 80% left and 80% right instead of 100% in each direction. I played with a few other beats and did not find any difference (since I found one where it did make a difference), so it depends on how they mixed the beat. I then played with only the right or only the left channel and it was not as pleasing to the ear (but still very usable).

That's kind of cool, although I wonder how that would work in a church context? I mean, drums aren't usually panned that way in a PA (I wouldn't think, not my area of expertise). A drum fill in stereo across widely separated speakers on a stage sounds interesting but a bit weird. Seems like more of a feature for recording/listening with headphones.
I would say to listen to the beats with headphones like your were planning and see what you think. I am sure there are other beats that do something different between the channels. I don't think that the panning of the mix is overly exaggerated in that one track. I just happen to pan hard to see if there was any difference between left and right. I just think it sounds fuller with both channels represented. At my church, the PA is panned in such a way that it would be in mono anyway, so you would not have the sound bouncing to different speakers (other than the bass frequencies going to the subs). So if things are in mono, I would only go with one channel at church.
Just finished my new main board (will use 99.9%)...sounds phenomenal, when run into my two amp heads...and it makes an outstanding amp-less DI church board. Dead quiet noise floor!
If I ever want dirt, I keep an MBD-1 and Doom2 in the drawer, plus the Berg Forte HP built-in dirt options are really good!

No—I have empty, customized PT's to build dirt boards, but that's rare now days. Usually, just use the dirt options that I loaded in my Forte' HP...
I've been on a long quest for quality tube-influenced bass tone...no dirt, dual purpose (amp or amp-less DI), small board, and avoid swapping out pedals.

I don't actually use the AutoWah (At least not yet)--but it's there because I like it.
I do use the other pedals
So if we ever get back to playing as a group I would be using this board--as long as I get a couple of new cables to clean this up better.

I menat I don't actually use it for worship services (At least not yet--I did try it out at a jam session/rehearsal & it wasn't fitting.) but I do use it for other playing.
It is a fun pedal to have.
Now I need another one for my guitar pedalboard.

What is your DI? I have found a negative with the LA-1A as my DI. When using the 600 ohm out as a DI, I can't turn off the compression - not that I'd want to - and I can't engage the boost, which I plan to use with my lower output jazz bass.
I may have to add a DI as I want those options. I have a simple but good Radial Pro DI that won't fit on my board but not a big deal to have it and a short cable to plug my board into it for DI gigs and just use my board in front of my amp like I do now at home.
I have the shaw di and it is amazing. Check out the specs, its not just a regular passive di, its really small, mxr sized, and its a great DI, also runs on 9 to 18v...….might be the ticket if u are short on space. Disclaimer, I have no affiliation to Shaw, just a satisfied customer spreading the word.

Thanks for bringing up the Pinstripe! That looks like just what I am looking for once I add the Oracle to the board! My other DI's are bigger than I would like and the RNDI is also.
