Anyway, I discovered a flaw with it...the rubber on the back doesn't like velcro. Wouldn't stick for love or money. Fortunately, it has a label and battery door not covered in rubber and it will stick to them.

I've seen some debate on whether or not these are true bypass. Anyone able to definitively confirm yes or no?

It's apparently millennium bypass, whatever that is I couldn't tell a difference with it in or out of the circuit, though.

I just pulled the rubber off of the bottom and stuck the velcro to the metal

I haven't opened it yet but I need it replaced ASAP so I went ahead and ordered another. If I manage to fix this one it couldn't hurt to have two.

That's awesome! I'll probably take you up on that because , despite my wide skill set, soldering irons are the bane of my existence.

Now, there is a little hiss when the gain is high. But, I'm using it at a low gain level, tone knob dialed back, with the switch set to low.
Someone posted earlier about the rubber bottom and velcro not getting along. And I ran into this problem also. The Joyo Analog Chorus I purchased at the same time didn't have the rubber bottom, the construction looked the same (sans battery cover/door) so I just peeled the rubber bottom off. There is a little bit of a "lip" from the outside case when the rubber is removed (like the older Aguilar pedals), so I just built up the missing space and now we're good.

IMO, pretty much all dirt pedals hiss a little at high gain settings so to me, that's not an issue to me, since it's no different than anything else.

Agree about the high gain hiss. As I've said before, I dearly love this pedal inspite of my current issue. I also love my Ibanez PD7 but I won't lie: that thing is STUPID noisy no matter what you do. The secret is to not turn it on unless the band is crankin'...

impossible to say unless I saw it.
possibly your DC power jack wasn't making a good contact.
