Can someone help me learn a part of the song "Fives" by Guthrie Govan? Its at the tapping part at about 1:20 of the song. It is so hard to pick up by ear. :crying:

Yea it sounds kinda good but its like 98% of the time. I'm never satisfied with my sound. :(

When I play live, I just set the amp to flat. I adjust my sound with the knobs on my bass. Is this correct or should I be doing something else? Thanks TB'ers! Cheers!

My bass is an EB Musicman Bongo 6 String. I forgot to site that one on my first post. And....my SR505 was stolen :bawl:

I told him to set it up like John Myung's action or something real low. When I got it from him, the action was perfect and now after 11 months, the action changed. The first strings are close to the frets whereas the higher strings (12 fret above) were unusually higher than before.

So you mean that to achieve perfect low action for your bass, you must adjust both the truss rod and bridge? The luthier at the store I bought it from said to me to "Always adjust at the truss rod not at the bridge." This was thru an email. Now, he won't even reply at all.

Yes the strings are the same brand, Ernie Ball Slinkys. I'll try do the pressing the strings at the nut/saddle thingy if it helps. Thank you guys for the tips!

Hey TB peeps, I just changed my strings and the action changed. The Gauge is the same. It is an EB 6 String Long Scale Slinky @ 130-100-80-65-45-32. The action was not the same after changing my strings. Is this normal? Or should I be adjusting the truss rod @ 1/8 a turn? My bass is an EBMM...

I just bought an M-Audio Fast Track Pro from some music shop. I am currently on a vacation right now and I only bought my laptop with me and a headphone. I am using a EBMM Bongo 6 to record random stuff. My laptop has Windows 7 64 bit installed in it and the latest driver for my audio...

My old bass was an Ibanez SR505, when i played this it took a bit of time to get used to. The string spacing is manageable, not that far. The neck is so freakin' thin. The finish feels so smooth on the hands. The headstock looks like sharpened dagger with matching tuners that looks like...

After a few hours of playing with it, i felt that the neck is actually heavier than the body. Feels weird at first but i got used to it. For those who are planning on buying one, don't hesitate! I'm currently "thief-proofing" this, lol.

i really like the feel of the yamaha strings(the one that comes with the bass when you buy it). it just feels so good because even though the action is low, the tension is almost the same. even if you tune down. can anyone recommend any identical strings? i jsut wanna try it out. i will...

I am playing bass for 6 years now and after my Ibanez got stolen, I borrowed another guy's bass. I got .05mm calluses on both my middle and index finger. Sad. I think it is because of the strings, the EB strings barely damage your finger, I also heard Dunlops are nice. But those stock strings...

After watching that video, it seems that the Single Coil near the neck had more bass. Maybe because it was near the neck. So if that single coil was replaced with a Humbucker, does that mean the output will be higher in terms of the bass, mid, treble? I have read some threads telling me that...
