Car Guys, need opinion for problem Jeep with 3.7L V6 with Auto transmission.

Jeep forum is good for some info, but like all forums, tread carefully. My dodge trans had an early problem, servo and pressure modulator failed. 200 in parts and back on the road. 200,000 miles later and runs well.

    the mid-life rut?

Might try a project partner for the bikes. I turn 50 later this year and have some hard earned wisdom with the years. I'm also watching my dad who's in his late 70's restore an old John Deere wagon for a local museum and having a blast. My son and I are his project buddies on this. Don't...

    Junker Tune Up

Like mike n has said, steer clear of flux core on that thin stuff. We use it at work for fabricating and outside work, but it runs pretty hot. And it can be finicky with certain wire. I used flux core to repair a 7 yard bucket on a Cat 970 loader. Material is an inch thick. Just sayin...

Moving to WA - should I go to Vancouver-area or Seattle-area?

Pilgrim, friends and I used to drive down to Fort Collins from Laramie. Beautiful country there too from May to October. Little chilly otherwise.

Moving to WA - should I go to Vancouver-area or Seattle-area?

Used to be pretty wary of people with CA plates. We were told to enjoy our stay, but feel free to go home. I think Seattle also rates highly for stuff to do outdoors.

Moving to WA - should I go to Vancouver-area or Seattle-area?

West Seattle! The Spud, Alkai beach, hop on a bus and hit Bass Northwest, great transit system up there. Sequim is nice up on the peninsula too. My dad grew up on west 35th when it was two lanes. I-5 has turned into a parking lot the last few times we were there. Like I-80 from the bay...

is it to hard to change a clutch on a front wheel drive car at home?

Hdracer, very true, one bad experience..... Holt does a great job doing work my shop is not set up for. I don't have an amp tech as we have electrical engineers at work that will do side jobs. The complexity of new vehicles is also increasing very rapidly. word is, CARB is looking to seal...

is it to hard to change a clutch on a front wheel drive car at home?

I truly hate working on my vehicles, however, they run when I'm done and I know fasteners are tight and parts won't fall off on the freeway. Just watched a friend of mine fight an oil change place over a cracked pan. Watched my boss fight a dealership because they kept throwing parts at his...

Anyone here on your feet all day at work?

Schmit boots from tractor supply work great for me 10 hours and 6 days. I go through boots in six months so cost and comfort are key. I'm 6'7" and 275. Not in a standing job though. Lots of walking.

Lots to be said for a new ring gear too.

    Engine design idea

Millitary had some ceramic engines that ran without cooling aside from oil.. I'll have to look it up though.

How about a steam engine using sodium cloride?

    Engine design idea

Some of those were deltic engines. Three cranks and all opposed piston. Used in English patrol boats during WWII. Lots of monkey motion going on.

    Finally Some Rain in California

No water in the ditches yet, but another storm or two should fix that. Nice crop of weeds and skeeters on the way. Lakes are finally rising too.

Please explain the origin of your user name

I work on diesels (mostly) and play bass sooooo. And if you've ever heard a v16 genset with no muffler running......what a roar.

Grooves you can use over any chord

Agreed. Lock in with the drummer if you get to audition with one. Play simple but confident. Make the song groove in the context you have to work with. And remember, in P&W, bass/drums are there to serve the song.

The secret to playing with a lighter touch

Miscue with a 3 lb millers hammer, a punch and a brake drum gave me a lighter touch. A hot paperclip will melt through the nail and provide a satisfying geyser of blood. Hurts less then the small drill method.

    Please listen all you idiots!!!!!!

I learned more about driving in 3 months of winter in Laramie Wyo. then in all the years bfore or since. What I drove didn't matter near as much as how. Momentum and a healthy respect of the power of brakes to do bad things. Little park brake to lock up the rear diff on takeoff and due...

    calif drought

Raining good here. Almost got stuck in my driveway (more mud than gravel). Few more storms like this and we'll be much better off. Thank you Pinapple Express and the volcano at your source.

Rain here on and off through the day. Supposed to be a good sized storm coming through over the weekend. Hope it happens.

    calif drought

Yeah, I'm torn by the train thing as that would be a big contract for my work, but with the continuing problems with the brand new bay bridge, not too thrilled about blasting along through the central valley while a John Deere is broken down on the tracks. More rain in the near future which...

    calif drought

Had a nice little rain starting around noon through the second quarter. Not enough to do much. Winter wheat is being irrigated now with alphalpha and the apple orchard that surrounds my place. First two cuttings of grass are going to be bad, cost of feed goes up, cost of milk and beef goes...

    calif drought

Word is farmers are alloted 5% of their water usage from last year. Plus variable rates for electricity might make for some expensive food this year. Isn't every winter in So-cal like summer everywhere else?

    calif drought

Could be an interesting year. I live in the country and the farmers are out irrigating. Folsom lake looks like a pond. Friends are having their wells punched deeper.... my job is related to construction and there is worry that sites will be shut down as lots of water used in dust control...

Tough Sunday. First service (traditional) went long, soundcheck went short so I never could really hear myself, so listened to the drums very carefully and timed my fingers. Weeeellll, during a quiet spot, I discovered my fancy new tuner gave me a drop D tune on the E. So instead of trying to...

Stanford marching band ruins 2014 Rose Bowl for some people

Yeah, some of the stuff people get angry about can be pretty amusing. My old music teacher in high school went to Stanford and played contra bass in the Santa Clara Vanguard so he had the best of both worlds.

Lots to give praise for here as well. After many nerves prior to an audition, I joined our team in early summer as a pinch hitter while everybody was out of town. Now I'm in the rotation and very excited about the future. New WD for the New Year as well. Ali and I are also looking to get...

Wow! Nice stuff out there! I'm pretty happy with what I have at the moment. I am planning on stripping the electronics out of an old Ibanez musician and installing a Bart setup. Way things are going, that will be a selfie for Christmas next though. 60+ hour weeks are looming as construction...

Our board is big and analog. I'll take a closer look next time for make and model. I was really looking at my channel to see the settings and it was set flat so a decent signal was coming from the sansamp.
