"Vertical-ish" / Multi-tiered pedalboard solution ideas for home studio

This is bugging the poopie out of me too. I use a small Mackie mixer and a Magic Stomp as well as sundry conventionally sized boxes. Five of them require separate xfmr power supplies and the rest are powered by a Vitoos/Harley Benton ISO-10. Recently bought a Sonicake Portal, which is a good...

    Warwick Gnome i-Pro Review

Gnome is a great wee amp (with no SVT pretensions). As you know, they're completely different circuits and voiced differently. Mine into that TL606/EV cab I mentioned is well suited to fretless and sharpens up nicely if I want fret definition from a Stingray copy. If you want Ampeg options...

    Crown DC 300A tech. question

Though realizing this discussion is somewhat dated, so is my DC300-A. My sick little plan is to ditch my valve gtr combos, buy a UAFX Enigmatic to do Mesa clean/three shades of Dumble overdrive; pair it with a UAFX Ruby (Vox in a box), and run them a/b as stereo sources (which they are) into...

EVM 15b OEM (in a GK 115B cab) power rating?

Lucky man! I'd love to throw a 15L in the GK bin I have, though it appears I'm unlikely to damage the oem EVM-15B in current application. Cabs I have are a TL606 and an 806. Both amps are pretty tame. The Boogie is a mere 50 watts, the Gnome bass head runs about 140 watts @ 8 Ohms load. Gone...

EVM 15b OEM (in a GK 115B cab) power rating?

It's OK, I do know this. Hmm.. though I used to play bass through a '62 Vox AC30 about a hundred years ago (1979), to get the trem/vibrato channel Chris Squire thing.

EVM 15b OEM (in a GK 115B cab) power rating?

Good to know. I'd been flirting with picking up a used quadbox (4x12) to use as an xtn for the little Boogie, an F50 combo - then kicked myself and thought "Duh, just use what you have!" Sounds enormous too.

EVM 15b OEM (in a GK 115B cab) power rating?

I'm piggybacking the EVM-15B cab with a 12L in the top box. Unfortunately, to do this means running both my 50 watt Boogie's 4 Ohm extn speaker outputs (one to each cab for combined 8 Ohm amp load) - so I don't think I can use/build an active crossover.

EVM 15b OEM (in a GK 115B cab) power rating?

Here it be. I'm occasionally using it for strat in combo with the Boogie TL806 pictured. In that config I'm powering them both with a 50watt Mesa head, though I've been warned about feeding guitar frequency into a bass speaker it sounds huge.

EVM 15b OEM (in a GK 115B cab) power rating?

Twelve years late to the party, I'm interested because I recently picked up an identical GK TL606 bin with oem EVM-15B. I'm using it with a wee Gnome class D amp for bass, and was curious about the 15B's rms rating.

    Warwick Gnome i-Pro Review

The Elf was a disappointment - idiotic compression. Fan noise. Mine began turning itself off, and that was that. Gnome is vastly superior. Adequate dB @ 8 ohms load into an EVM-15B.

Re: CNSY's bassist during the 1960s

Crosby played a Guild Duane Eddy that was converted to a twelve-banger. But what was Greg Reeves playing through? You know I want to say "a Fridge (Ampeg), of course," - but I'm not sure.

Re: CNSY's bassist during the 1960s

Bunch of questions were asked (by me, too). In the process of figuring out wth WAS that electric 12-string David Crosby played on the Tom Jones Show (and you must see that!), I discovered. It was Greg Reeves!

    Warwick Gnome i-Pro Review

Realizing this thread is pretty old, nonetheless I'm much happier than expected with the Gnome iPro. Bought a TE Elf and later a 2x8 TE cab - the Elf soon developed a fault and began turning itself off. I didn't think much of the Faitals either. Gnome works differently: no stupid...

converting my top load bass to a string thru

Improved screws? It's a topmount bridge. If the screws were loose, there'd be room to slide a feeler guage - or a coin! - under it, because it'd be getting ready to catapult across the room... death by Harley Benton

converting my top load bass to a string thru

Hmm. Not really. High mass bridge + correct installation = more string/neck/body resonance conducted via pickups & onboard electronics, not less. @Chop11777 very kindly sold me a Schaller 3D-4 high mass roller bridge, which is now installed on a fretless JB. Additional to yielding extended...

    GK 115 T????

Abarson. Any bar, son. I don't give a rat's arse if it's a dinosaur thread. I found one yesterday. Maybe someone with a less snotty attitude will find one, and wonder. If it's a goose or a duck. It's a Gallien branded TL606 with an EVM-15B, which is a LOT better than a poke in the eye with a...

    2x8 cabs?

Hoped Elf 2x8 would do the trick, but it kept spitting at me. Found one of Bill Gallien's oldies, a 115T (t as in TL606) with correct EVM-15B. Gnome can certainly manage 2x8ohm parallel - but the Elf has to leave for better days elsewhere. EVM does it better. No-name jb isn't - found my dream...

Gallien Krueger Club. GK Rules !

115T white logo cabs contained the EVM. I picked one up yesterday. When I've figured out how to pop the grille without destroying it, I'll pull the driver and work out whether it's an EVM-15L or B, 200 or 400 watt (probably 200).

    GK 115 T????

GK 115T is very much along EV TL606 lines. Front port bisected by one central brace instead of two, but still 2" high x cab width. Power handling depends on which EVM was used, either 200 or 400 watts @ 8ohm.

    GK 115T info?

Got the 115T home from upriver. Really couldn't bring it past the mothership airlock straight away, had to peel off a layer of tobacco tar. It. Is. Exactly. What I had hoped for. Looks so silly, you'd have to admit.

    GK 115T info?

Resurrecting a dinosaur (I know). I'm hoping to buy a 115T that's advertised locally. Took the better part of an hour just to identify it - there's hardly a shred of info available. I'd planned to build an EV TL606 cab, and tracked down a used EVM-15 to put in it (three hours away by train)...

    Gallien-Krueger 115T cab rattle

Oh shoot, just noticed your post is from 2001. I'm about to buy a 115T myself. Not sure exactly how it was constructed, as I don't have it yet. Unless it's fastened from the front with screws into the baffle-plate, the grille is probably a squeeze-fit into narrow saw-kerfs on left & right and...

Ampeg Micro CL - Question for Owners

Hi buddy Unfortunately, *yes* it is what the Micro CL does. Mine distorts like a bastid. It's not 'gentle harmonic distortion', it's a mess. 1. No, it's not a blown driver. 2. No, it's not a faulty cable or connection. 3. No, to the goofy goober, it's not because the non-existent gain pot's...

    In search of a mini-gear

Hi mate, I came by an Elf 2x8 cab a couple of weeks ago, to determine whether my little Ampeg wine-cooler has a blown driver, or if the amp was fried (it's the amp). Undeterred, I hunted for an Elf head, and found one for tiny money. What I can tell you for sure: that wee tiny Elf head drives...

baby Ampegs! Micro CL vs Micro VR

Though I realize this thread is probably dead by now, three words sum up the Micro CL. It is rubbish. My bass is not the problem. It's a professionally worked fretless jb with F noiseless v. pickups and a really good harness. With the CL's solitary volume pot - amusingly labeled 'master' -...

Anybody know much about obsidian wire?

I decided on the Vintage Plus, as I do not want top-end rolloff at lower volume settings. After a few hours with the fretless today, I'm reversing on the spitty bridge pickup observation.
