Has anyone ever had an issue with their quarter-inch output jack? I'm getting some pretty serious crackling when the bass moves around. I tried other cables/amps and the problem persisted. Is the solution just a new jack?

I've been at school on the East Coast, and wasn't sure it would be a safe place for my Fodera. Turns out it's fine, I'll be bringing it back with me in January.

yeah tapewounds or even a thinner gauge of your regular strings if you like the sound would be good to try.

do you notice an issue with fret buzz or clanking? How's the action and the angle of the neck. It's possible a fret may be too high, or a bridge saddle too low.

it sounds like a setup issue. If you're not comfortable setting it up yourself, take it to a local tech and they should be able to deal with it.
