I started using a pick and P bass recently for a new project after playing 5 string active basses with fingers for 30 years. It's a great tool.

I gigged a J bass with zero fret. I noticed an open string difference.

I tried a Eich bass board last summer at a dealer. He set me up with headphones and the board. It was wicked bass heaven. You can feel every single note thru your body besides hearing thru headphones. As far as your question try contacting John Fox Bass. That is the shop I tried it at.

That happened to me the first time I had a active bass. Did not watch level. Batt-O-Meter saves me now.

I say YES. I used a pick when I first started then stopped using one 3 years after. After 30 years of Pizz I returned to a pick for a new gig. Just a good tool to hace.

Just my 2 cents. If you keep the rubber feet but add spacers between the feet & amp to to compensate for the extra height needed then get longer screws if you have clearance inside the amp. BTW I recently tried several GR cabs at a dealer. wow, they are light. Lifted a 4x10 cab with 2 fingers.

You need to play those tunes on a regular basis to overcome fatigue.

I had a Traveler P Bass. Played it on gigs several times it worked fine but I like 34" scale.

Slow & steady, then work up the tempo. Don't expect any miracles. It takes time.

I have a Taylor Baby bass guitar. 20" scale? It is loud enough for a soft jam with acoustic guitar in your quiet living room. IMHO. But it sounds great with a combo amp.

I recently tried new Venture head & 1x12 cab and was impressed at the sound and ease of setting up tones.

I say start on 4 string. Others will say it doesn't matter how many strings, true but until you know the neck well a 4 IMHO will make it easier.

Bar gig, guy comes up to me on stage as were playing and starts yelling "Stop playing this, Stop playing, I hate this music.

The only deals I see are the old bass cabs & amps selling on CL for pennies on the dollar although they are still top quality.
