With 2ohms you can't go any lower... You can't wire it for 4 ohms, but if you did 8ohms then if you paired up with another 8ohm cab you could set your V4 switch to 4ohms. John_K likes to put a switch on his cabs so he can go from 2 to 8.

You can add a brass pickguard and/or a brass backplate on the underside of your headstock to add weight & sustain. Adam Dorn added the headstock thing to his Sadowsky & liked it, although I found it a bit top-heavy with a strap.

Make sure your brakes still behave with that added weight!:)

Great suggestion on the V4 or V4B head, although they don't weigh 40lbs --they weigh closer to 65 pounds. Still, lighter than an SVT's 90lbs.

With four 8-ohm speakers you can wire them to have an 8ohm impedance or a 2ohm impedance, switchable if you like. Four 8ohm speakers can not be wired to have a 4-ohm impedance.

My advice would be: If you haven't yet checked out an all-tube amp yet, give that a try. Another biggie for me was: if yo've always been stuck with ported cabs, check out a sealed one; the're tighter.

I'm a big fan of the Peavey Databass 1x15 400w combo from the 80s FWIW, which can be had for $200 sometimes. The stock BW spkr is good, but also nice with a full-range PA 15" spkr, or another upgrade of your preference.

I think the Peavey Databass 1x15 combo from the 80s is awesome for what it is: a 400w little powerhouse. I put a fullrange 15 spkr in mine, but stock is good too. I see these combos for $200 sometimes on Craigslist.
