I got rid of my whining by sending the signal through my DI-Box. Just from Input --> Through it is an active Di... it cancels the whining (hum).... I dont know why it works, but I gladly accept it!

Buying the OSD two years ago definitely cured my GAS for overdrive! I tried a lot but the OSD just kills! The best thing about is that I can dial in a tone that goes along perfectly with my clean tone.

Ryan's OSD is by far the best bassdrive/distortion (whatever) pedal I know!

Church of Misery rule! The starting point depends on what kind of vocals you dig more... The changed singers for nearly each album. I listen to them for years and the early works compilation and "the second coming" realy grew on me. Their split with Acrimony is also great.

@basstardus: when you use an 12at7 you will have less overall volume since it is a lower gain tube than the 12ax7 it comes with. It gets more versatile and usable but you sacrifice some volume... I do not want to convince you otherwise, but be aware of it.

Thanks for the recommandation, Next weak I will try to work with what I have (the 12au7). I dont need all the gain, I only need some crunch, the rest comes from pedals when needed. A 12at7 is easier and quicker to get for me at the moment, however, I will keep in mind your recommandation!

I have no problems with pa, because I always have a speaker sim with me! fuzz without some kind of natural speaker-like highcut is horrible

I like the old peavy heads! Especially the Mark series and the TB-Max amps. The one time I played a firebass, it was in the same ballpark. Dunno about US prices though.

IMHO Sandbergs are a pretty good alternative to other basses in their price-range (US Fenders and so on). But that Sadowsky I once played feld very superior!

Just be sure that you do not clip the thing (it has 3 different sensibilities). The only thing i do with our recordings is cutting them and using a predefined compressor in audacity. Its pretty darn good for a handhold, couldnt believe it myself until we tried it. Thanks to that Anthrax...

When we record we always use the 4channel-mode for best results. We also record in WAV-format. with a 1gb card we can record 47min with an H2. we mainly use a 4gb card anyway, but the 1gb came with the zoom.

We use a zoom h2 for recording and for the price its great!

glad I could help you! I chose the OSD because I never was a rat guy in the first place. The OSD is a good counterpart to my BBM. Also great for boosting and JCM800 on guitar!

I own an OSD and I think it is very true to the original character of your bass. You can get an increddible midboost with some settings though.... Most times I let the toneknob on the lowest setting with my P-Bass, with my J-Bass turning it up a bit works better. It also gets into fuzz territory...

with G&Ls I loved the tribute sb-2 I played at a store lately. The 2000/2500 were pretty flexible but not my cup of tea.
