Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Haven't been here for ages! And the first thing I do is shameless self promotion! My band just recorded an album that is soon to be released. I hope some of you dig it! I love my basstone on it, gnarly! Solarbarque | Facebook Feel free to check it out! In return I'll be checking this...

    Mayones Jabba Bass

I played a few of them at the music store in Cologne. They tend to be more on the 70s side of Jazz Basses. Very nice instruments but quite modern in sound.

traded my Squier VM Jazzbass for a Yamaha BB424x omg I love that bass! Playing only the P PU is sooo gnarly! It has a lot more bite than my Fender P but is more variable. great bass

    Zoom MS-60B (part 2)

I got rid of my whining by sending the signal through my DI-Box. Just from Input --> Through it is an active Di... it cancels the whining (hum).... I dont know why it works, but I gladly accept it!

    Fuzzrocious Club - Sextuplet

Buying the OSD two years ago definitely cured my GAS for overdrive! I tried a lot but the OSD just kills! The best thing about is that I can dial in a tone that goes along perfectly with my clean tone.

Stoner/Doom Bassists 52: Post your Bongripper bass cover youtube videos!

Ryan's OSD is by far the best bassdrive/distortion (whatever) pedal I know!

Stoner/Doom Bassists 51: Back To The Future

Church of Misery rule! The starting point depends on what kind of vocals you dig more... The changed singers for nearly each album. I listen to them for years and the early works compilation and "the second coming" realy grew on me. Their split with Acrimony is also great.

Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Pt. 45: Rule 34: Handwired Gear Pronz

From a fellow german: check out the crush the button shop from Belgium. it is a bit cheaper than Effektboutique.de The swollen pickle is versatile for a Muff but it is not that handy to have to use the trimpots inside the pedal. The Musketfuzz is also quite nice. I am in the market for a new...

    Official Orange Club II

@basstardus: when you use an 12at7 you will have less overall volume since it is a lower gain tube than the 12ax7 it comes with. It gets more versatile and usable but you sacrifice some volume... I do not want to convince you otherwise, but be aware of it.

Stoner/DOOM Bassists part 35: Colorado Bound

I contributed to the speaker-sim DI subject some threads ago and mentioned that I use a Behringer GI 100 Ultra-G as a cheap solution for livegigs. well there is how it sounds in a live setting with an Orange Terror Bass driven by some Muff and Fuzzrocious OSD. It works pretty well, BAss is...

    Official Orange Club!

Thanks for the recommandation, Next weak I will try to work with what I have (the 12au7). I dont need all the gain, I only need some crunch, the rest comes from pedals when needed. A 12at7 is easier and quicker to get for me at the moment, however, I will keep in mind your recommandation!

    Official Orange Club!

I recently swaped the 12ax7 for a 12au7 in the v1 stage of my terror bass. lost a lot of output but the sound itself benefited a lot from it! especially the eq was more usable and the low-end was tighter, but still crushing. I am going to change the 12au7 to v2 or am going to use a 12at7 to...

Stoner/DOOM Bassists Part 34: The Way She Goes

I am using the TB 500 for 2 years now and I still love it! I think it has ridicouless amounts of volume! I changed the V1 12ax7 for an 12au7 to get some more useable clean headroom. The stock tubes were unlabelled chinese cheapos. This does not mean that it is really clean, but it got a little...

    Fuzzrocious Club - *High Five!*

Nope, sorry did not mean to confuse. But thanks for the compliment, I also like it alot! those tracks in my sig were recorded before I got my OSD. Thats is only my Orange Terror Bass into my Warwick 6x10" and some good mics + DI, but favouring the mic signal. Together with a Jazzbass (Squier...

late reply, but I am at the other side of the world, so I guess you posted in my sleep... I use this one: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] actually works very well in a live setting!! Also very useful for recording at home, but for a "real" recording-session I would choose several good...

ampeg pf 410 hlf and 15hf, what do they sound like?

while I find the Barefaced cabs intriging, I would prefer something more easily available. Mainly i am looking for people who own, or have tested those ampeg cabs I listed above. For some good boutique cabs I would go for german fmc-audio cabs, since I have already played one of them, and they...

ampeg pf 410 hlf and 15hf, what do they sound like?

Hey, I am thinking about selling my Warwick 611pro cab. It just seems to muddy with my orange terror bass (the cab is indeed pretty muddy). I am interested in those new ampeg pf 410s and 15s. has anyone tried them yet? other thoughts or recommendations that are available in middle europe? I...

Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Pt. 22 - Design The Skyline is DOOM

I leave in the Ruhr-area in Germany and can reach London, Berlin, Paris within a day. But nearly nobody drives with his own car to London for obvious reasons ;-) And yes, it is hard to imagine how large the distances in the US or Australia are, when you grow up in an area where sometimes...

Sadowsky vs Sandberg - anyone have tried 'em both?

Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part 15: Mr. Personality Strikes Again.

Just be sure that you do not clip the thing (it has 3 different sensibilities). The only thing i do with our recordings is cutting them and using a predefined compressor in audacity. Its pretty darn good for a handhold, couldnt believe it myself until we tried it. Thanks to that Anthrax...

Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part 15: Mr. Personality Strikes Again.

When we record we always use the 4channel-mode for best results. We also record in WAV-format. with a 1gb card we can record 47min with an H2. we mainly use a 4gb card anyway, but the 1gb came with the zoom.

    Fuzzrocious Club Quadratic Equation

Yesterday my Brother got his GS! Since he is also one of my guitarists we had a fun time with it. Cool thing! eats the NYC Muff for breakfast. We got some cool Saint Vitus-style sounds out of it with his jcm800. Gonne do a guitar and bass-demo alike to the one I did with my OSD in the next...

Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part Ten - What is this thread about again?

glad I could help you! I chose the OSD because I never was a rat guy in the first place. The OSD is a good counterpart to my BBM. Also great for boosting and JCM800 on guitar!

Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part Ten - What is this thread about again?

I own an OSD and I think it is very true to the original character of your bass. You can get an increddible midboost with some settings though.... Most times I let the toneknob on the lowest setting with my P-Bass, with my J-Bass turning it up a bit works better. It also gets into fuzz territory...
