if I need the action lower then what the saddles will go to, can I file the slots deep? or is shimming a better choice? are deep slots not recommended?

so the consensus is bigger is better then smaller? I'm going to try to get them as close to size as possible but I don't have a million files, so I can get close but not perfect.

cool. I actually ordered the bridge. should be here thurs. I talked to my tech and he said that 7/64 and 6/64 is considered a little hight, so I don't think I'll have a problem getting that action. next thing is to slot or not to slot and to do it myself or pay someone $50

honestly parents are never going to understand. I had similar issues with mine. sometimes you have to do things yourself :) don't let her get you down, maybe she just doesn't get it or you. laugh in the face of you obstacles and find another way. don't give up, or the terrorist win :)

depends on how much you tighten the screw in your body. don't go too tight, you want them to swivel freely. but generally yes. make sure the holes in you body aren't striped so the screws slide out, or it defeats the purpose of getting a locking strap

I liked them. only issue is you can't fit your instrument into a hardcase since the clip ends are always attached. some cases might work. I didn't like the fact that when playing you bass with out the strap you still have the clip ends attached. otherwise awesome straps, well made, sturdy!
