I used them. They feel nice to as do the nickel lo riders. I favor the nick lo riders over Sunbeams, they are louder.

Boomers feel so nice. It's a shame they turn to all thud after a week ! Smoothest nickel roundwound there is !

TIs aren't stiff at all ! Loosest flatwound on the planet ! Their roundwound aren't all that though. I like their flats, but the rounds are no different than say Slinkys. They feel good but don't last.

Your intonation (saddles) May need adjusting. Every time you change strings it should be checked and adjusted. Even if the same gauge is used, sizes vary from each manufacturer. If the bass isn't properly intonated the harmonics won't ring out right.

Drs are weird to me. I like them but get tired of y hem at times. They tend to be rattley and sometimes I want a tighter thump. I guess that's y I favor pro steels.

Ibanez uses both elixirs and daddario. You'll notice on some new basses the colored ball ends..dead giveaway !

Ghs precision flats are a good middle ground. They aren't too bright and not too muted. As far as stiffness they are in between Rotos and TIs.

I wonder if these strings would be going over as well if Marcus wasn't endorsing them ?? The same thing happened with DR when Fatbeams came out. I wonder if it's all just hype ?? If let's say Richard Bona's picture was put on a pack of R. Cocos, would they become popular too ?

When I had more than 1 bass it varied. A p bass would get 45-105, my jazz 40-95. My six string 45-100 with a 30 c and 130 b. These days on my 5 string jazz it's 45-105 with a 130 b.

List the gauge strings you like !! If you play 5 or 6 string include the B.

I don't know where folks heard of using linseed or tung oil on a fretboard ? I am a painter by trade, both linseed and tung oil are finishes. They harden and are primarily used to make stains. Both will darken your board and I'd hate to see a nice Madagascar Rosewood board ruined ! A penetrating...

250s sound better with passive basses, 500s with active.

As long as it's 34 inch scale yes . Fender actually makes good flats but they are stiff like traditional flats ! Ghs precision flats are nice if you want the trad sound and they aren't as stiff.

Hoppes no #9 gun oil ! They use it on rifle stocks. It's a clear, light oil and penetrates quick !

Your pickup height may need adjusting too. From the factory especially fender they set them a bit higher. With a setup though everything has to be q accounted for so yes,vid take it to a tech if you are afraid to do it yourself.

Your intonation will be more accurate with the four saddle..

The quality isn't the same with the new Mexi signature models. I had a Japanese MM bass and tried a Mexi version, they don't even have the same feel ! The Japanese versions were better made.

It looks like a hopped up SX bass. Heck even the Fender Marcus 4 string is Mexi made now. I had a Japan one I should have held on to it. The geddy lee is Mexican too now. Fender doesn't make sense sometimes ? The modern player series is quite good though, especially the telecaster 70s style bass...

Daddario halfies can be sticky in bigger gauges. Not as bad in light gauges. Brite flats are smoother . Sit silencers are nice too.

I think daddario came out with these because they knew of Marcus Miller dropping DR, and that he'd be looking for new strings and an endorser. I'm surprised Dunlop beat them out ! Go figure, they sound pretty much like his style .

One of each, Aah I remember those days ! I should get a v string American std p bass. That am dlx Dimension bass is hard to resist though.

That's what I used to put on my p bass ! I loved them broken in, they killed my frets though ! As far as my happy medium I'd have to go with Daddario Pro Steels ! They break in nice, have good bottom, and keep their zing. Next I'd say the Xl Nickels, but they go dead faster.

You guys into Roto 66s should be warned, they do a number on your frets ! They always ate frets as far as I remember. I used to use them and after 6 months I needed a fret job ! Unless you have stainless frets on your bass stay away from them.
