You're right. Warehouse Concerts best. Even one ,he mentions Fillmore album released one week ago,and selling great. I just keep looking up new concerts to save.

I save every 69-72 concert I can find. The A Warehouse concerts are the best. Not counting Fillmore. Some high school concerts are great too. They were the best band back when. But when Duane and Berry died, they were never the same. RIP DUANE AND BERRY.

In my opinion it was Mark Farner. He is still touring with his band,and his band does his Grand Funk Railroad tunes BETTER than the GFR band of today. Anybody who never heard the original band should listen to Mark Farners band if they want to know what they sounded like back in early 70's.

Wow You have the same opinion I had about Mel and Berry and Chris. They were my inspiration to play bass. Unfortunately Mel especially and Berry Oakley are totally underrated and it has bothered me for years. They deserve more recognition.

As far as drilling post. No way. I planned on using same post holes,and trimming off mount plate where it overlaps and exceeds headstock. I made template from pics and would have had 2 overlaps and 2 over edge. I figured that that wasn't too bad,but not what I really expected. So Bloomfield and...

I'm changing my "junk" Ibanez srx 690e tuning pegs to precision open pegs,but I'm ordering a set for $8.99 from Amazon and can't find a template to figure how much of the mounting I most probably will have to grind off to fit headstock. Ibanez srx has narrow headstock and at least 2 posts are...

Does anybody know when the srx690e was introduced? I can't find anything about it. My brother gave it to me because I lost my 74 jazz bass and he wanted to get back to music,and I was a bass player.

I'm going to get some precision tuners and try to replace the gotoh tuners,because I've lost faith in them. I can't afford hipshots,and on the originals,the screw that goes to string peg is about as thick as a matchstick. No wonder they snap. Well I'll let you know after I measure distances of...

I'm thinking of putting retro precision pegs if they would fit. At least it's a one piece shaft to string. I hope they can be used. I'm just thinking.

I don't know guage of strings but I thought of that too. I never had a problem like this till I got the Ibanez srx 690E.

It was a good amp,but,you won't believe it but I bought. Sears Silvertone blx amp 200watt with 2x15 2x12 cab and it totally kicked butt! Loud to the max. Solid state and I miss that amp to this day.

Second time the D string tuning peg broke. I don't get it. Bass is always in tune and I never banged it into anything. There's others of you that had same problem. I'm clueless what's causing it.

Don't feel bad bro. I have an Ibanez srx and I have the same problem. D string tuning peg replaced a year ago,and today it broke again. Guess these tuning pegs are just junk. Had. Fender Jazz for 35 years and never had any hardware problems. Good luck!

Use the pick. What's so bad about playing with a pick. It seems that now it's a big problem if you don't use fingers. WHY? There's no rules that say you can't use picks in this time. I always use one,so I'm an outcast. It does make a difference. Ask any sound engineer.

I used to wipe my strings down after every session with cloth and alcohol. It worked for me.

In my opinion,Fender Basses are one of the most comfortable instruments to play. I owned an original 74 Jazz Bass,bought in 74 and it was a dream to play. My only bass for years. Now have Ibanez srx690e, and it has its merits,but no way as playable as my jazz bass was. Sniff sniff I miss my baby.

It looks legit,but parts changed. $400 is what I would offer.

I used la Bella flat rounds years ago. Black wound and they were great. A lot quieter string noises and warmer sound. Round wounds were brighter sound but I always worried about them wearing out frets,so I hardly used them.
