I’m very happy with my tone from my Two Notes Opus. It seems to check all the boxes, except maybe having a super large number of different models.

I’ve run mine into the effects return of my Rumble 500 with great success. Even guitar sounds great with the tweeter on. By bypassing the built in preamp, the only slight coloration would be the speakers, which are pretty neutral.

I was looking for something similar and eventually ended up with a Two Notes Opus because of all the other features it has for the price. Great tones in there.

The DC Jr's neck is amazing

The first couple years with the LP I was using Gibson Brite Wire strings because I loved how it sounded when I first got it. After a solid shielding job with some conductive paint, I've got LaBella White Tapewound strings on it and I'm really loving how it sounds and feels to play.

He did various mods himself and posted the photos in another thread. That paint job was his own work. EDIT: I guess if I'm going to contribute anything to this thread I should also say that a LP Jr DC is my daily driver. I love it. Mine is black.

I use a PRS gig bag that fits it perfectly. Not sure if you 100% need a hard case. EDIT: should have mentioned it's a guitar gig bag

I'm in South America and got it from a generic "electronics stuff" kind of retailer, but like superheavyfunk said, you can get it from StewMac. Guitar Fetish also sells a small jar for cheap.

Finally got around to shielding the bass. I used conductive paint rather than copper tape. It's dead quiet with the tapes now. Problem solved! I can now 100% recommend LaBella White tapewound strings for this bass. They're a great match.

The issue is only with tapes, since they don't let your hands complete the bridge ground while touching the strings. But yeah I'm going to shield the cavity and ground the shielding to the bridge. Maybe it'll help.

Well I decided to put La Bella white tapes on this bass and I can report that the noise factor is insane. I'm going to order some copper tape today and see if I can fix the problem with shielding. On a positive note, the feel and sound are incredible. I love the bouncy feel of these strings...

I gotta ask if you guys who have no noise issues with tapes all did extra shielding work on your basses or do I just live in a building with terrible wiring?

Hey tape club! Do you guys think that a preamp like a Sansamp with ground lift would take away the notorious tapewound hum? I just put some tapes on a passive humbucker bass and the local luthier sides with the faction on here that says shielding will help a little but not cure the issue. Was...

My Les Paul DC bass has fantastic sustain when it's got roundwounds on it. Even with the short scale and stock 3 point bridge. YMMV.

Has anyone put tapes on this bass? This bass is my daily driver and I've been married to those Gibson Brite Wire rounds that it ships with, but I've been imagining what the feel of LaBella White Tapewound strings would be like.

Anyone here use TI Acousticore strings with fretless? I've got LaBella black tapes on my ABG and I'm wondering if those will produce a better piezo sound. The tapes are great unplugged but obviously can't do much with that.

Are those strings TI Acousticore?

I wouldn't be worried about it then, if you already owned a Jr and didn't immediately find it uncomfortable. I can see why you're at a dilemma. Both basses are great options.
