2 Notes Opus

A valid request indeed and one I have already sent to our team! Thanks again for the suggestion John!
Thank you for passing that along!

I don't know if it is possible or feasible, but it would help a lot of bass players.

I've found that working with the Preamp &/or Power Amp Section to get close to the tone I want ...
... or alternately, starting with a particular Cab Sim and tweaking the mics to get close to the tone, if I desire to have a Cab Sim.
Then lastly, use the Custom EQ section for the final touches.
But when you use the Opus live, you don't want to have to exclude the EQ section if you want a similar tone sent to your amp onstage w/o Cab Sim and the DI signal with Cab Sim to the FOH.
You'd end up juggling your amp's tone trying to get the same ideal tone that you sent to the FOH.

Anyway, Thanks!

No worries at all and this is super feedback to have! All passed on! :)

Possible stupid question - but one I'm struggling to find an answer for:

Are you able to blend the cab sim in rather than all or nothing?

Currently using a Aguilar AG preamp but find it too clean - but I use a lot of octave and synth effects and the colouration of a cabsim doesn't play well with this from past experience

Thanks for getting in touch. On the DynIR side this is not possible, however if you are using Static IRs, you can simply not load an IR in one channel for a Dry feed and use the Channel with an IR loaded as your Wet Blend. Let me know if this helps! :)

Thanks for the speedy response, Ross! I'd rather use the propriety IRs as they sound great in demoes - probably rules the unit out for me unfortunately as at least half of my set is spent being a synth :(

Thanks for getting back to me. As another idea, If you have a mixer available, you could send the processed and non processed sound via the XLR and TRS outs (respectively) and action a blend on the mixer. This would give you the freedom to use the DynIRs while still being able to action a Dry Wet Blend. Let me know if this helps!

Just another suggestion to try.

You can set the relative level of each section that you use, which in the case of the DynIR's would be through the mic levels - reduce the mic levels and boost the Gain on the Preamp section &/or the Volume on the Power Amp section to taste.

Maybe not exactly like a blend, but kinda / sorta ...

Any chance the Opus will ever support NAM profiles in the future?
Thanks for reaching out. At this time, there is no plan to bring NAM support to OPUS due to DSP constraints we have in the hardware — NAM profiles tend to be highly CPU intensive and as such porting them to OPUS with the same quality as a standard, non-feather, NAM capture would not provide users with the quality we insist on as a base standard for our product line. Nonetheless, this is a feature request we have hard a number of times before and I will certainly relay this to our team!

If anyone is looking for a transparent active cab to run the Opus into, I found this:

After looking at a lot of options, I think the Yamaha DZR10 might be a great solution - the frequency range is 44Hz - 20kHz (@ -10dB); 137dB Max SPL; and 39.5 lbs.

Pretty crazy for a 10" woofered cab.

I recently looked at the Opus, but decided to just go with Genome since most of my work is at home ITB these days. Still curious about the Opus, so I’m following here.
It depends on whatever live work you do (if any), but for many live situations, it would help to have at least a simple Midi controller - like the Tech 21 MIDI Mouse.
Otherwise the controls can be awkward to navigate (beyond just volume levels and switching Presets) on the pedal.

I love the tones I can work up for either playing through headphones (it has awesome sound through its headphone amp) or running the Line Out into the FX Return on my combo amp.

Great suggestion on the MIDI controller — I use this too and it's a great fuss free solution! :)

With the Opus, am I correct in understanding that the parameters are adjustable in real time via the app and a Bluetooth connection? I’d like to have some of the sounds accessible for tweaking without connecting to my laptop/DAW but the two knob situation seems like a limitation that would frustrate me. I watched a few demos where tweaks were made via the knobs and it wasn’t terrible, but it’s a far cry from knob per function (and there’s certainly too many functions to have a knob/button/switch for each).

Yes indeed, all editable parameters can be controlled via the wireless remote! Let me know if you need any more info! :)

Fantastic. I’m pretty satisfied with my SansAmp BDDI and DSM Cab Sim so I don’t really need what the Opus offers since I have the Genome, but new gear has a way of creeping into my collection :)

For anyone who’s using a line out to an amp and the DI how do you set your levels?

I’ve been having a bit of a rough time at practice where everything sounds a bit thin. Sounds great at home with a DI into my interface. Anyway tonight I was having a play around and despite my signal to the line out being placed before the blocks on the OPUS, when I just bypassed it physically and went straight from my preamp to my amp the volume jumped massively. Instantly everything sounded excellent.

Is there a setting I’ve missed? Why would the line out signal be so weak?

It’s a shame there isn’t an output level meter for the DI and line out.
