2 Notes Opus

Anybody else get an email from Two Notes offering a free download link for the Genome "software ecosystem"? It all looks legit/above board, but I've been listed as a "long-standing Two Notes customer" despite owning the Torpedo for less than a year.

@AmyTwonotes can you confirm if this is a thing? It appears to have a new Ampeg fridge IR in it, which would be nice to check out. Even though I've been supremely satisfied with the Mesa Subway 212 IR, and rarely use anything else, I've not loved the in-house 810 IR that came with the hardware.
Hi @sloppy_phil,

Yes that's correct! We launched GENOME last week and as a thank you to Two notes hardware or Wall of Sound users, we are giving every registered customer with a Torpedo licence (pre GENOME’s public release) a free copy of GENOME!

I oredered my Opus this morming!

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as i get into the idea of IRs.

It looks amazing and am looking forward to checking it out!

Hi to all,

@AmyTwonotes now that I'm playing with Genome on my PC and I've got my Opus as the core of my pedalboard, I cannot stop thinking about how much it would be cool to extend the functionality of the Opus by integrating it with the Genome platform and permitting then to export and use the very same profiles created on the Genome on the Opus in a live session. That would add pedals and profiling to the Opus and would really maximize its functionality and value in a live session, letting it laso compete with Kemper Profiler, Quad Cortex and the other main players in the digital sound processing market.

Since you actually recently release it and updated its processing capabilities, do you think it would be something that is considered in Two Notes? Arew you working toward this ambitious goal?

Thanks in advance !!

Alessandro

Hi Alessandro,

Ross from Two notes here. Sadly the DSP in OPUS is not powerful enough to run some of the components in GENOME, specifically CODEX and our STUDIO FX roster - both of which require a significant amount of processing power. We are however working on preset import from OPUS into GENOME in order to build on your tone in our new flagship software ecosystem and are noting down all user requests for supportive hardware!

Cant seem to find the buffer settings in the genome plugin. Do I need to change them in the daw settings. I only have used stand alone plugins in the past.

Hi Hydron, Ross from Two notes here - thanks for getting in touch. In GENOME you can use the oversampling settings to reduce the CPU usage of the application - these are located just above the CPU meter in the Global Settings pane situated at the top of the GUI.

In terms of latency / buffer sizes, this will need to be configured in your DAW; we have some handy reference articles on our knowledge-base that will assist in setting this for all mainstream platforms - please see the link below and let me know if you have any other questions concerning this.

I haven't followed this thread but I've been using the Opus for a month now (on bass only) and really like it. I did some initial experimenting and have stuck with the same settings ever since. I was a bit bummed to realize that the full range of amps and cabs require additional purchase as that didn't seem entirely clear to me from what I had initially read about the Opus (and from the product page on Sweetwater), but not bummed enough to return it obviously.

Hi @lucas303,

Hope you're well! OPUS can be updated via a free firmware (OPUS - Amp Sim & DynIR Engine) to complete the 10 guitar/bass preamps! Let me know if you have any further questions!

Super happy with the Opus ! Ampless gigs are way much pleasier now.
I like using a touch of enhancer and power amp emulation to lightly compress the sound.
Just a concern with the preamps : Peggy and Aviator sounds great but are not transparent.
Even with low gain, I can't reach a smooth-neutral sound.
Foxy is more usuable but a kind of Neve 1073 preamp emulation could be a great update.

Two Notes Team, any chance to get that in a further firmware ?

Greetings from France !!

Last night gig with the Opus. GREAT TONE!

I would really like to see a Preamp+Poweramp+PostFX (no CabSim) Line Out routing. DI out is always for FOH, but a lot of times i have an amp onstage. I bypass its preamp (via FX return or poweramp in) but PostFX would be really handy: i use it mainly as a HPF.
Great to hear @cutipaste and thanks so much for the suggestion, we will feed it back to the team!
