My dog hates when I practice. He comes in to my music room and barks at me. I've tried various things to see if I can determine the cause, like playing notes with different attack. No effect, although he gets way more annoyed if I slap - I can't fault him for that though.
I figure either my playing is horrible or he is jealous of my basses. On the other hand our wondeful old cat (who is no longer with us after 17 years) loved listening to me play!

There are three dogs in the neighborhood that sing along each time the church down the street rings its bells. It's quite funny. One dog starts howling, then the other two join in. They do this till the bells stop. When I was a kid, the dog next door used to do the same thing whenever they played the piano. He really seemed to enjoy it.

As much as my dog hates when I play, he will "sing" - which is really "howling" - on command. The Beagle in him really comes out at that point. It's very loud!

Beagles know how to do that well.
My wife's family had a beagle. When he got loose, he would run. The only way to catch him was to chase after him with a piece of meat. They always had to keep some wieners in the fridge. Your mix probably has a lot more sense.
LOL! Nope, not a lot more sense. Our guy cannot be off-leash in a non-fenced area for the same reason as your wife's family beagle. He'll take off and go.Beagles know how to do that well.

We took him to obedience classes and taught him to come when called. The instructor told us to always carry a piece of bacon to coax him back. All fine in the "classroom" but outside off-leash, once he gets a "sniff" of deer or, worst case, a fox, he's gone!

No. But the bottom end on the 212av is surprisingly tight for a ported cab, so maybe that could create the impression since there is little "overhang" and more control than in many other cabs IMO.

I seem to get a nice bottom end while using my SVT-CL. It won't match my 8x10 but what 2x12 would. As most would say doubling up the 2x12 or 410hlf would solve your problem.
Someone posted recently about the tonal differences of the -15db input. For the life of me I can't find it. If someone can recap or point me to it I would most appreciate it.
I am currently running my v4b thru my ampeg 610 hlf but thinking of selling my svt-cl to buy an heartage 810 cab. My biggest problem is I find even with a 610 it's still not tall enough at ear level. Is an 810 going to be louder then a 610 or does the 810 just have the height advantage?

A little of both. Won't be crazy louder, but it will be a little louder. Height advantage is big for me, though.
Thanks Jimmy! I may be crazy getting rid of my SVT but it just sits as I use the v4b or b25b at just about every gig. I've been hearing so much good stuff about the heartage 810 from you guys. I guess I'm thinking the v4b with the 810 will handle most any gig plus the added height will help.

The Heritage 810e absolutely slays any 810 before it with the exception of the flatback from 69-74. While I can't say the Heritage improves tonally on the flatback, it's at the very least its equal, and it's lighter, easier to move around, and takes over 3x the power that the flatback takes.
