It would certainly kill their sales. People don't buy expensive woods to have them covered in paint like entry range plywood.

So, from right after the nut (on the fingerboard side) to the 12th fret, the length is 17 13/16 inch, so the low B scale length using this method is 35 10/16 or 35.625 inch.
And this is the length from right after the nut to the highest point on the saddle groove:
