2019 Gear Purchase Plans

A Fender Custom Shop Postmodern Precision. I have experimented over the last few years with a bunch of different basses and realized that I really like passive Fender basses. I picked up one of those full rosewood neck Jazz basses and can’t put it down. I have two Dingwals that are phenomenal but just haven’t been touched since the J came to town. I need to sell those and grab the Precision.

My big purchase of 2019 will be my first custom bass. A Marusczcyk six string. If possible, with stereo output. Not sure yet if I'll go with flamed or spalted maple top.

I think I only have two major purchases planned for 2019. A Fender Precision from the Mod Shop and a Mesa WD800. I've always wanted a walnut or mocha brown P bass. I almost stole one from college - inadvertently. I was in Jazz band and they had an unplayable P bass in the music room. I borrowed it at the end of one year planning to get it back into playability, but it went into the storage space in my apartment and out of mind. Got a phone call at the end of the year - "bring the bass back". Oops. But it was honest. I guess the morality question would be if they hadn't called and I was moving out of the apartment, discovered it, would I have taken it back? Anyways, I still want a brown P bass and yeah, I realize that Mod Shop is a bit of a ripoff.

I'm getting these in about a week.

A nice guitar and an amp. I need an electric.

I my Mod shop P Bass, I’m sure you will enjoy yours. But moving back to Australia ends G.A.S. It’s like a third world country where the price of Music gear is ridiculously expensive compared to the USA. As for second hand gear: We Aussie’s seem to hang on to everything until it’s junk and then try and sell it for top dollar.

My main ones are a beastly Jazz bass. May be grabbing one from a good buddy of mine here on TB in the coming month or so. It's a Geddy Jazz, 70's style. I think he said it's a CIJ version. Let's hope! I REALLY want a Red Panda Tensor as well as a Meris Enzo. Those are the biggest ones that come to mind right now. There's other stuff out there I would like to get but I'm really happy with my setup overall I actually don't want or need much more. But then NAMM 2019 is upon so.....we'll see where I'm at in a couple weeks haha If I got those 3 things all year, I think I could be a happy guy.

Well, don't really "need" anything. Have a Ric 4003s, Fender Jazz, Mesa D800....

But have been saving for a pair of Mese Subway 1x15 cabinets. hopefully will gt those in 2019. would like to hear a WD800 just to compare to mine to see which I prefer, but that is not likely. not a Mesa dealer anywhere near me.

oh and that upcoming envelope/synth pedal from Source Audio.....

Tell me more about this new SA synth pedal. And speak slowly.

Piqued my interest on that one...I've had the GAS for a Panda Audio Future Impact and just about pulled the trigger, but I'm waiting to see what NAMM brings.

Other than that, just bought a HX Stomp (which is absolutely amazing) and have plans to possibly sell my Rick Turner Fretless 4 to fund the much needed repairs for my upright.

I do plan on purchasing a custom 5-er from a local luthier friend. Basically I want the same feel to the neck as the Brute but lighter (thinner chambered body), passive, and with two J pickups as opposed to MMJ. I love the Brute, but sometimes would like something other than the bartolini tone, and shedding a couple of pounds would be great for my old back.

Since joining this forum last year, it put me on a gear kick. I purchased a 97 American Fender jazz as a second bass. Then Ampeg SVT 7pro (was due for an amp upgrade anyways). Recently i got an ampeg 810 and carvin BX1500. I already have a 610 but the deal was way too good to pass up.
Btw, if anyone is interested in the carvin BX1500 shoot me a PM as i don't have use for it lol.
As far as 2019, i think the SVT CL is next on the list.
