That’s exactly what I didIf he removed multiple speakers, only the RB-210 has them. The woofers are 16Ω each, connected in parallel, resulting in an 8Ω load. If he replaced them with 8Ω speakers, that would result in 4Ω, pulling maximum power from the amp (while remembering not to connect another cab to the back of the amp). The following block diagram is for the RB-210.

210Was it the RB112 or RB210?
One can be suspicious since you mention "took the speakers out..." Having 2 speakers can connected either in pararell or series and you change Ohm accordingly. I don't know internally how the speakers in RB210 are wired. RB210 has a horn too, which has to work and gel with whatever else you put in there, but you may not be interested in using it at all. AFAIK no piezo horn where ever present in the original Ampegs anyway, so that one can - basically - be neglected.
I thought they were but they’re not.China make Eminence ,like earlier batch Rumble V3 combo.
I just got back from GC - took a look at the RB115 compared to the RB110 - I don't like the size. I'll use this as a home practice amp and the smaller RB110 fits my small room much better. Decided not not do any swap. RB110 it is.
Just got this an hour ago. Very pleased!

Very nice bass and great color. Is that a version of the 'EB'? It's cool.
1981 Gibson Victory Standard. My favorite bass.
Yes. That's a cool bass. Some of the Gibson bases are very cool. I have a recent model EB Gibson bass. Long scale, humbuckers, but it is 'by far' my lightest bass. And the neck is not fat but more like a thin Fender. It is almost exactly like your Victory in general appearance. Has that same strat type headstock, which I dig.
Congratulations on that nice Gibson bass!
For me the 210 is the only one I could gig with assuming light to medium rock band and smallish room with no PA support. Really surprised how good the older BA series sounded at a gig last weekend (bass amp supplied) and I left my big stuff in the car.
But you guys play real music and not all that loud!My neighbor has an older BA115 and I never bother to haul my own amp across the street when I go over there to jam.

Woa, dude, you're playing the amp loud enough to trigger the speaker protection circuit? Late at night? I turned mine up fairly loud one time and it was LOUD. Loud enough you'd have to shout to be heard over it. And it was not up all the way. I feel sorry for your neighbors if you're playing that loud late at night. My rb110 is used in a small quiet room and also very late at night. So its main limitation (power) is an asset because when I play my bass too hard or loud the rb110 hits straight into the speaker protection limiter and the rb110 momentarily cuts out.
