That person has deep, deep issues. I'd keep my distance, and honestly...it seems like an actually sad situation for them, a-hole or otherwise. That person probably needs help.

I saw "Let It Be" and they had someone playing Paul that played left handed. It looked like he was playing, I couldn't detect any "air bass" / playing to a track, but I was back in the back of the theatre. Vocals too. I was wondering how much he was able to demand for that role. They did the proper basses and guitars and amps. Really well done.
i suspect whoever let him out of his cage is going to get a stern talkin' to tomorrow morning at work.

A tribute band is always going to be a different animal from a bunch of Joes knocking out covers of their favorite songs in the vain hope that there will be an audience wanting to hear them down at the Drunken Clam. A tribute band is somewhat like a musical or play, follow the script and hit your mark. Sure, this guy may be A-personality, but he wants to get it done.
This situation wouldn’t be my idea of a good time, but if he can bring it, I see no problem.

I still buy CD’s, and they’re still available, new releases as well. I gladly ditched all of my LP’s 30 years ago(and as I recall, very few, if any, complained about records being phased out back then), and I think this naked emperor vinyl ‘revival’ is a step backwards.Right? Like, so many things to unpack in that one little comment: The original parts were distributed on vinyl and 8 track, not CDs... AND, who the h3ll even has CDs anymore? CDs are simultaneously no longer relevant and also not even the original recordings. Yet, AL-X demands you play like the CDs.

I get into arguments with vinyl purists who insist vinyl is a more pure & accurate sound than digital. (well, i limit how often, when, and with who, but still)
Without going through my entire argument, vinyl's not more pure nor more accurate. The things they like about the sound of vinyl are the flaws and inaccuracies. I'm not saying it's wrong for them to like vinyl better. It's just not this pure & perfectly accurate thing that people think it is. And then good luck keeping whatever fidelity the records have after repeated plays. They've done tests where people can discern quality degradation after only 30 plays when compared to a brand new record.

That said, the "revival" is only 6% of all music revenue. Nowhere near the 70% of revenue that vinyl used to be at one point. CDs are somewhere around 3% these days. Every once in a while i buy a CD for my aunt or parents because they don't do streaming or digital downloads. Every few years i even see some people try (and fail) to make a cassette tape revival too. WHY???

He might try to get you to join his 12 song Black Sabbath band so you can play bass just like on the CDs, and you'll spend one practice per month going over the same songs with just AL-X and no drums or vocals.

Mind you, I loved Sabbath and that kind of stuff back in the day, it was a relief from all that James Taylor/Carole King namby pamby, but by Sabotage, I was kinda over them. If I want to hear heavy now, I’ve got Boris and Sunn0))). Plus I live in the general region where all the desert rock bands came from. I’m big on Nebula and Fu Manchu.
