Have we finally gotten to the oldest "A" frequency of 415 Hz? Explains: 1) Bb predominance in instrument transposition 2) ancient pipe home keys, 3) lower tension violin design (before the great re-neck trend happened in violins), etc. So if you want to be authentic, you need to tune a half step down (415 Hz is Ab).
As a guy with extensive early music (medieval and Renaissance) performance and research in his past (and lots of graduate level study in other styles), just two words come to mind. Nah, never mind...

What couldn’t rationally be taken as anything other than an innocent question about a fairly innocuous subject by one TB member sure seems to have brought out some of the worst aspects in some other member’s personalities.

You could. And with some justification. But it’d likely fall on the same deaf ears your first request did. So it’s hardly worth the effort.

Seriously, though, I can think of several legit reasons for tuning down to another frequency besides A = 440, with easier singing and slightly less tension on your strings being tops on the list of reasons. And the vast majority of tuners on the market these days will let you choose what frequency you'd like A to equal. You'll almost always have to set them manually if you vary from A = 440, but it's not hard to find a tuner that does it at all. But this business about syncing to the earth's frequency or being more relaxing and calming is just claptrap invented by someone who I believe thinks of himself as a great thinker, has way too much time on his hands, and has done way more hallucinatory substances than the brain can stand. Just do it if you like it and don't adapt reasons rooted in nothing to explain it.
