I have to admit - Fender would call my Jazz basses Precisions, because they have Precision bodies and necks. The Pickups are Jazz pickups, though they're...hum cancelling.
Yeah my Jazz Special is one of the best P's I ever heard, and since Japan apparently screwed up the necks, it has a 1 5/8 neck anyway, so other than the fact that it has a j pup in the bridge, there's really nothing j about it.

No. But then again, J-Basses are not better than P-basses, either. I don't really see it as a competition. I see basses as tools with which to make music. I use the tool that is appropriate for the job. I wouldn't take an upright bass to a death metal gig, but that doesn't make the upright inferior to the electric. I wouldn't use a drywall hammer to frame a house, but one hammer is not better than the other.
 
Dammit I post something interesting and substantial and it gets totally ignored, getting one response of someone who marginalized and demeaned my content. Then someone posts this meaningless troll bait garbage and it gets everyone's attention. I'm calling shenanigans!!!:spit:
