Aria & Aria Pro II Club

Hey! Quick question for everyone.. My first bass was a Aria Pro II and so I had to search for a new one. I found one at my local pawn so I bought it. It's an Aria Pro II CSB-450 Black 'n' Gold. I've found a lot of info on the CSB-450, but not much on the Black 'n' Gold series. Does anyone have any info on this bass? It sounds great by the way. I haven't set it down since I brought her home. Thanks!

I bought this bass last fall, it had been modded with a Dimarzio model one that had become microhonic. I tried an EMG DC and a CS, the CS sounded better... heck I even put a Nordy big single in it... that was a baaaad idea... So I finally contacted Aaron Armstrong and he made me an OEM style pup. I still had the original wiring (nice bene there) a quick bit of soldering and this bass is as close to stock as it will ever get!

The Armstrong pup is fantastic in this bass, it really tames the brightness of the neck and body woods giving the bass a mellow fat tone that I can't wait to gig with!

Thanks for letting me know about the Armstrong OEM pup - it really is wonderful!

classy looking aria...a lot of the attachments aren't working for me, here at work, whilst i browse, but does anyone remember the carved arias? there was an ad in bass player years ago where steve bailey was holding up two of them, a 4 and 6 string fretted...i don't know why i remember that, but does anyone else? has the old man lost his mind?

The first one is a 91' SB 1000 SE (previously owned by Alembic83):

And my second one is an early 80' SB 900 which has been made fretless:

The SB 900 with its Ash body is really fat but sounds so great !
The SB 1000 is lighter (Sen body) but doesn't sound as great as the SB 900. The neck is also way more thin.
Narrow string spacing is absolutely gorgeous ! I'm looking forward to buy an early SB 1000 but that's not an easy task

Here is my Aria Pro II TSB400. I bought it new in 1982 and it is still one of my most cherished possessions, bass guitar or otherwise. For years, it was my number one session bass. Engineers and producers stare at it without the slightest hint of recognition, but as soon as they hear it, they're converts.

Playing this thing always feels like "going home".

I went to do some recording for my band's next CD. I took a Wal Mach I, An Alembic Mark King, a Gibson SG reissue bass and my 80's SB900. Guess which one sounded best? I cut all the tracks with the Aria even detuning it BEAD to record a song I used a 5 string one

I agree but i'll still sell my soul for a fretless Wal Mach I. It's too bad my luthier ask me for 330 euro (50 euro less than what i paid for the bass) to get the SB 900 its frets back :/. I guess it's a better solution to find a fretted one.

Here is my Aria STB P-Bass.
Change the original white pickguard to this crystal clear red one so it look pretty decent and change the original stock pickup to those Delano p-bass pickup. The sound is quite good, good p-bass tone but i need to change string since i've just put some Ernie Ball slinky regular on but those string don't give a good p-bass sound. So overall is pretty good for a cheap bass to modify.

My Primary Bass

It's in the process of getting "aged" right now. It had some issues and looks better in the pics than in person. A perfecct relic project. It will be an awesome player when it's finshed It came stock with Dimarzios. Not bad for being 27 years old
