Glad to be of service!!! That looks downright sinister man. I'm definitely still jealous!

i hear kent armstrong does a good replacment sb pu.I sold my Aria Pro II SB EliteII Black 'n Gold to a buddy of mine in '86. Sadly he passed away but his brother asked if I wanted the bass and I now have it. The original pickups where changed and I'm trying to replace with originals. Does anyone know where I can get original pickups for this or should I use Bartolini or Alembics?
You are right Zuma, there is something sinister about that bass. That bass is obviously possessed of dangerous evil spirits. You should send it to me immediately so that I can deal with them. I will send you a lovely SX bass to replace it.![]()

I've also heard Armstrong pickups are the way to go when replacing faulty SB pu's. According to Graeme Fyfe's SB pages you can contact Aaron Armstrong through http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/ and find out about getting some replacements made for you. If you found some Alembics those would probably be good, too. Please post the results, either way.
Good luck.

I think this one will take two for a proper exorcism. Send it to me FIRST then The Hammer can take his blows at it.![]()

Hey guys, what do you make of this bass I've seen on a myspace site? Link Removed
I'm not sure if the guy is saying it was actually Cliff Burton's bass or if this is just an extremely rare all black SB-1000, like Cliff's. I contacted the guy but haven't gotten a reply yet. I'm guessing it's just a rare example of one like Cliff's, but who knows?
Anyway, here are two pics. You can view the rest from the guy's myspace site. The thing that jumps out to me is the serial number. It just looks strange. I've never seen one printed like that. It would indicate a 1985 production date which matches up to when Cliff used that model. But usually the serial numbers appear to be engraved in the wood. Everything else down to the knobs, bridge, LED light, tuners, logo/script on the front of the headstock, string spacing, etc looks to be legit. Cool bass no matter who it belonged to!
I will post my Aria Pro II Avante Series tonight!
im at work now!
Love it, really can get any tone, only thing is, its heavy!
