17.6 here too. I ordered on Saturday and I was told it will be arriving this Friday at latest, even with Thanksgiving. Because of this, I had it shipped to my home (in college right now). UPS is telling me they will deliver on the 29th which is AFTER I leave back for college! FML!!!

My red sparkle 300 delivers today and my black sparkle 305 delivers Monday, BOTH at 17.6 lbs.

I am starting to think the shipping rate from say 14.0 lbs to 18.0 is the same and in their shipping system it defaults to that number to save time since it doesn't cost more to ship. There is no reason these basses (4 and 5) would weigh EXACTLY the same down to the ounce. I wouldn't hold too much on that number. These basses are typically in the 10lb range.

Ok, there's a rock quarry, a landfill, and an industrial area. It's all good until the wind shifts. Then those of us in the residential area up a ridge from all of it get a serious attack to our olfactory nerves.

I have my tracking number but when I track it, it just says "exception". NO delivery date, no movement at all. I called UPS and they said it is with them and scheduled to be delivered by wed....but I don't trust it unless I can see it on their website

No. There is a wheel at the bottom of the neck like a stingray. They will give you a rod for adjusting it. Get familiar with "back loading a neck" before you do any adjustments on the truss rod.

For those thinking about adding a neck pup, it will be interesting to see how the stock circuit is wired as it uses a 3 coil pickup and, I believe, a preamp. It would be nice if someone has already done such a mod and can provide a schematic.

PaganJack, Funkfactor, and SwamiRob come to mind as people who have done interesting mods to ATK's

edit: schematics are posted a few times in the ATK Club thread, too.

edit#2: why worry about modding the electronics before you even play it? It may be fine as it is. My 750 and 700 sound and play different from each other(not alot, but noticeable). Even if you have had ATK's before, this could be better or worse than your previous experience. I recommend spending alot of time getting familiar with the EQ and switch(plus different strings) before you hack on it. Now, changing the pickguard or painting it is different. You know what you like to look at.
