Yeah man, I love that cabinet too. Well....both of the ones I have, actually. But the 112 is just so easy to move around and still packs a wallop.

AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

Thanks all for the help on the covers. Looks like I'll be the first in on this cover model! I haven't decided which brand yet, but I'll be getting something.

The first one I got was padded and while that protects better, it absolutely won't stay folded in storage without weight on it. That's very annoying. The second one I got is not padded and I like it much better since I'm not touring and don't really need the padding. It also has the Audiokinesis logo stitched on it which looks great.

I'll put in a plug for Studio Slips as they were very helpful in getting dimensions nailed down and produce a top quality product...they're super nice folks to do bushiness with as well.
Can you tell me about the AudioKinesis logo? Which company stitched it on for you and where did you get the logo?

My LeCover logo says "Lecover" and "Audiokinesis". It's not exactly an AudioKinesis logo, but it's a nice touch, makes it feel a little more like an "official" cover than a generic one.
I like the Audiokinesis logo on my padded Lecover because it immediately highlights the side that goes over the speaker - handy in dark backstages for rapid loadouts.
Thanks for leading the way on this because I would have probably messed up. Ordered my cover from Tuki but might go with LeCover for the next one. Love the Tuki but might get some embroidery for the C1203. Tuki is a perfect fit with my H1203
Tuki and LeCover's will hold their shape when not in use for sure. The Studio Slips I have for my Mesa cabs are padded, but are not stiff like the other two so they collapse when not in use. Then again, that makes them a bit of a bear to get them back on the cabinets...especially at 2 o clock in the morning when trying to load up and get out of the bar. So each have their advantages. I like them all for various reasons.
I don't have a cover, but the herd-of-buffalo-in-rut low frequency energy using our guitarist's basement stairwell as a waveguide certainly said "AudioKinesis" at practice tonight.
I've got a few practices behind me after disabling the upper-mids-enhancing "cheater circuit" in my Birdhaus 48 and I have to say, for my purposes, the cheaterless Birdhaus rocks.
I've made some subtle EQ adjustments--mostly trimming some 75 Hz, adding a dB here and there in the mids and cutting a little less at 3 and 6 kHz--and I think I can best express the results as "BLAMMO." It seems to me like I now have a more usable tonal range depending on where on the strings I pluck. I can move up over the pickup and play softer during verses and the heft is still there but the vocals come through better. I can pluck closer to the bridge and dig in more to accent certain parts and get a little more nasty in the tone for emphasis. This range of tones seems more aligned with my needs and more usable now. I feel like I'm getting close to being dialed in, finally!
I feel like someone with an active bass and/or more polished technique could probably benefit from the cheater more than I do, and in any case the cab sounded good with the cheater enabled too. But the subtle tonal shift that came with disconnecting it seems to have been a step in the right direction for my eq needs. Hope this is helpful and doesn't sound like criticism of the design concept.
Yep, ditto for my 112 Lecover and logo. I turn mine over and use it as a storage bin offstage during the gig. Holds my amp bag & backpack nicely. I even stand my gig bag up in it on a rare occasion.
on the lecoover stuff. are you all using the polyester or the cordura? (i have some lecovers that i got used but am unsure of which material.)
I believe it’s been said but, a list compiling the the (cover) Vendors and what they have available for AK cabs would be an awful lot easier than sifting through the entire thread. Although I’m not sure how to do that, would perhaps a survey page work? If it were compiled, perhaps Duke could put it on his site. At the least it could be more easily accessed here.
Tuki, LeCover, Custom Amp Covers, Studio Slips, and CoverAmp can make covers for any of the AudioKinesis cabs.
