AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

I am getting a pair of them :)

I want to hang out at Firewraith’s house for awhile. Damn.

And then I want to borrow his rig for one (1) band practice, because I want to see what it looks like to have the drummer, his kit, the guitarist and his Marshall half stack blown into the opposite corner of the room. Just a jumbled pile of limbs, chrome drum hardware, ripped tolex, splinters...

I still fantasize about an AK rig all the time, specifically two Hathor 1506s to pair with Streamliner 900.

One day I will wield devastating power.

I bet the Streamliner would sound great with the Hathor 1203. It was a little light in the mids for me but I was playing through Avatar 2 210s at the time. The mids on the Hathor would be perfect for that amp. I moved to a Genz Benz Shuttle Max 9.2 and eventually my GAS was tamed with the Genzler Magellan 800.

Just got off the phone with Duke. He is still out of town dealing with the things already discussed. He believes my cabs are still at least a month out, maybe a bit more. He didnt have access to his records/notes when we talked. Can't wait to get my hands on them but I definitely understand his situation.

By the way, I dont have an amp yet that can handle both cabs (they are being built as 4 ohm only). My plan is to pick up a Mesa WD800 when they arrive so I can run a 2 ohm load. I had another thread with a poll on this. WD800 came out on top but could also be the way I framed the question. I didn't put Genz Benz in the poll because, well, ya know... seems Genzler or Andy's work at Mesa are the evolution of the work at Genz Benz.

IME the WD800 is a great choice with Duke's cabs and bewteen the cabs and head you will have a ton of voicing options. I also like the GK MB800 with my C112T.

You wanna talk delays? Here's a tale LOL...

I ordered 2 cabs, 1203 and 1203T, in Oct of 2018. Made down payment, cool. 3 months later I start getting excited that any day, I'm gonna get an email saying "Ready to ship!".

I didn't. Not to be pushy, and realizing life gets in the way sometimes to delay things, I didn't email for an update.

Later readings in the forum told of wet weather in his area delaying production and him being sick at some point. Cool.

Eventually forgot I had the cabs on order.

Cleaning out my email Oct of 2019, I saw the correspondence. Contacted him for an update and found he forgot to put my order in the batches being made at that time in 2018.

So, between me not following up earlier and him forgetting to start my builds, here we are over a year later LOL.

I'm not mad and this post is not to be taken as disparaging to him at all. My issue was a "one off", nothing more. He said he has it tatoo'd on his forehead now, so... :)

Wish you strength and wish you well with your current life things going on, Duke. Don't forget to check your forehead for messages when you get back. :)

If anyone's headed to NAMM you can drop by and check out the TC112 at the Marco Bass booth again this year. I think Marco's going to have the new Jule Amp pedalboard pieces in the booth for the first couple of days as well. I'll probably be hanging there sporadically, but PM me if you want to meet up there or elsewhere.
