Buyer/Trader Beware on TB !

I was not second owner I believe I am the 3rd owner.. They guy I traded it from sent me that bass with pickup cover already installed. But the pictures I was send where the original ones that where taken out side. I was never a where the bass had a pickup cover till the bass arieved. When I traded it I sent the same pictures that where sent to me.

The plot thickens.

Same crap happened to me not too long ago. Seller used the pics by the person who they bought it from instead of actually inspecting the item themselves so when I got the item in piss poor condition, they passed the buck to the "original" owner. They did offer to make things right, but the hassle could have been avoided had the product been inspected in the first place. It's completely aggravating and the height of laziness when people can't be bothered to inspect and photograph what they're passing off as "mint".

NEW RULE: you must take your own damn photos when selling gear.

What say you, noble moderators?

I agree. I have been asked by members to use my pics for basses and I'm cool with it as long as they ask but really, new pics should be used.

The original pics of this bass were mine. Bass was in very good shape. And anyone who's seen my ads have seen that back yard.

Sorry to hear there were issues with the bass. It was pretty nice.

So...who did you sell the bass to?

It was a local trade. I honestly don't remember. It's hard to keep track anymore. I think it was initially through TB though.

No pickup cover, no neck issues. Pretty sure the pics in the grassy back yard were taken the day I posted the ad.

Someone did some not so great tweaks after it left me. It was almost new. I think I received it in a partial trade from the first or second owner.

Thanks.

So, seabassman didn't buy it from you, or install the guard......yet both he and the OP used your pictures.

This is why I don't buy used basses........just sayin.

I hear ya. I've been lucky here and I wouldn't buy anywhere else used sight unseen but TB, but it took me a couple good experiences to feel that way. I'm sure if it was my first try and I got a dud, I'd think more than long and hard before doing it again. The thing that ticks me off is that not posting your own good pics of the item totally subverts the system. You can have 100+ good transactions under your belt and still feign ignorance because you were too lazy to take a picture and used the last guys pic.

TB: If you're selling something and don't have a camera, borrow one or just hold off until you can manage to snap a pic. Furthermore, please take quality photos of the item you're posting. All it costs is a little time.
